Staycation

The property was great for my family. It was clean and plenty of room for my crew. The themed rooms and game room kept everybody busy. The host was very responsive.

Needs some repairs

First off I loved the theme of the rooms. The pictures made it seem like the perfect fit for our Disney loving family. Problem is I think it’s been a great fit for many families and the house really needs some repairs. The game room had some major safety hazards that we were assured would be fixed by the time we checked in. They were not and my 1.5 yr old son immediately found the safety hazards. The property management company did call me the day after we checked in to see how everything was and sent someone out to replace the table tennis table which had metal sticking out. There were broken chairs which they said they would be back to fix the next day and weren’t back. There was flooring missing and even tile in the bathroom. Things I wouldn’t have expected needed to be repaired were there. Again I understand this house is probably very used by families. The pool and hot tub were nice to have to our selves and it got got quickly. The beds were comfortable. I don’t understand the limited trash bags and toilet paper. Especially for the price but thankfully Publix is close. The gate at times can be extremely congested with traffic. Weekends that gate is way backed up. There are definitely pros about this place but unfortunately the cons really dampened the experience. My recommendation is for the property management company to take a few days and get the repairs done on the home and the themed rooms and do a deep clean and this home will truly shine.

"Great Water Park, but House Needs TLC and Better Prep for Large Groups"

We recently stayed 12 days at this VRBO rental, and our experience was mixed. The management team was responsive, quickly addressing issues with the pool heat and fridge, and offering a refund for the pool inconvenience. The property’s water park was a major highlight, providing endless fun for our family with its slides and pool areas. However, the house had several issues. It was not very clean upon arrival, and needed cosmetic updates, including chipped paint and dislocated towel and toilet paper racks. Privacy was also a concern, as the curtains on the doorwall to the pool area did not offer adequate coverage from the neighboring property. The property, advertised for 16 people, lacked sufficient seating and kitchen supplies for a large group. Initially, there weren’t enough washcloths and towels, and though the management delivered more, they were new and still in packaging, requiring us to wash them ourselves. While the management’s responsiveness and the water park were positives, improvements in cleanliness, maintenance, and amenities are needed to enhance the overall experience.

Bad Experience

The lesson is that if there is only one review and it's not good, pass on the rental. We rent through VRBO at least once a year and often more - this was our worst experience.It started with something that you can't blame on the host but is an issue nevertheless. Windsor Island Resort has a terrible security process. We arrived on Friday around 8:30pm of a holiday weekend and there were at least 200 cars in line to get through security and the line wasn't moving. We left and came back 45 minutes later and the line was longer. We had my 87 year old mother in law with us and couldn't wait in that line for 2 hours so we stayed at a hotel and got no satisfaction from Windsor Island or the host. The next night there was a police presence and no line, but other times during the weekend there were 30 cars in line.Here are things the host could have directly influenced but didn't:-The AC upstairs couldn't get the temp below 75 degrees. The host responded quickly and had several stalling techniques but finally claimed the tech was on his way but they never came. We do not believe they called the tech-The game room was almost useless. The pool table was missing a ball and the video game didn't work-Everything was done to the absolute minimum. 1 towel per person; no wash cloths; every soap and/or shampoo was near empty; even the dish soap was watered down and they left one garbage bag This is clearly an investment rental that someone is trying to squeeze every penny out of.
