I stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Water Park by IHG, and it was terrible from start to finish. Check-in took forever with just one person helping guests, even though other staff were visible but didn’t step in until 20 minutes later — not a good first impression.
The room was filthy: wet rug, broken top bunk, dirty bathroom floor, and gross couch. I booked through Expedia expecting to pay $98 at the hotel but got hit with $31 per parking space and over $73 per day in resort fees — way overpriced for what you get.
On arrival, the pool was closed without explanation, and when it did open the next day, it was overcrowded, murky, and shut down again after a short while. Over two days, we barely got two hours of pool time.
The area was under construction, parking was a nightmare, and even with a handicap placard, we couldn’t find a spot because no one enforced the rules. At night, we ended up parking by a sealed container like everyone else.
The atmosphere felt unsafe, with people openly smoking weed on the property — definitely not the family-friendly vibe they advertise.
I won’t be back and don’t recommend this place. Save your money for a cleaner, safer, and truly family-friendly resort.
