"Great place for families visiting Shimoda and Izu Peninsula. Definitely a hotel catering to Japanese tourists, but with a little Japanese and respect the staff is very friendly and works with you. Some of the staff spoke some English. Bathhouse, arcade, and hotel amenities were great. Walking distance to everything downtown and easy spot to drive to other locations. Would definitely stay here again with family on vacation. "

"It's a resort ryokan hotel with excellent view of the ocean. The "half-board" breakfasts and dinners were delicious and plentiful. The town of Atami is very hilly with very very steep roads that are not very walkable (and could be dangerous when wet), so be prepared to use a taxi or a rental car to go practically anywhere."

"This hotel is located right on the water and we loved the ocean views, and (when we opened the window) the sound of the waves breaking. Very peaceful and beautiful. The onsen baths were large and pleasantly hot, with water that was clear and gave a nice feeling. "

"The hosts were amazing. Totally went above and beyond! I was offered to be driven to Omurayama. They also offered to drive me back but I opted for the bus (for the experience!) Also, I was super impressed by one of the female workers speaking so many languages! I'm also a super picky eater but the traditional breakfast was amazing. Last but not least, when I checked out I was given the offer to drive me to the station. They're just such lovely and kind people!"

"If you don'tmind staying in the cheap but worst place, this is your hotel. The place is super old and beat up. The room was dirty and you will find hair from the previous user all over the place. Bed is like a board, no cushin feeling. It was one of the worst I have ever experienced."

"This is an onsen ryokan. A natural hot spring Japanese style inn. It is quiet and relaxing. If there is not an option for dinner when you book, contact the hotel directly (not Expedia). It is a must to participate in eating the multi course meal. Not only is it delicious, there is not much near by. Each night the menu changes, but it is a set menu. You will not be disappointed. Also, schedule your pick up at the train station. "

"My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and let me say this is the best stay we have had so far in all of Japan. Food was wonderful, everything was so clean, staff was great. My husband and I were very impressed. The room was so spacious. Very worth it!!"
