"This is a very well run hotel with excellent staff. Location is not ideal as there are no bars or restaurants within walking distance which is why my partner and I went half-board ( we were there for 3 nights ) - that was a bit of a mistake as the food was not inspiring, there was a distinct lack of choice, no labelling on the serving dishes ( so we couldn't really tell whether something was chicken or pork ), and the restaurant didn't open until 20:30 ( bit late for a Brit ).
Would we stay again? Probably not, at least not for 3 nights but the hotel itself represents incredible value for money."
"Knowing only a few words of Spanish was of no hindrance to our stay at this perfectly located hotel in Badajoz. For instance, the reception staff helped us order taxis and transitioned seamlessly between Spanish and fluent English, for which we were most grateful. Having said that, all the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful, initiating polite salutations in both languages as they recognised our Spanish language limitations. The restaurant staff quickly learned our choices of drinks, both hot and cold. Often they would offer us our coffee just as we liked it. A very nice touch, thank you! As mentioned by previous reviewers, the hotel location is perfect for arrival and departure by bus through the convenient proximity of the bus station 2 minutes walk away. We had many day trips to neighbouring towns, even one to Seville, by clean, efficient and inexpensive buses. The historical walled city is a leisurely 10 minute stroll away from the hotel, with many cafes en route. On days when we got weary after a long walk, a short, inexpensive taxi ride returned as efficiently to our comfortable hotel and room for relaxation. I would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a base in the city/region for exploring the history and culture in this beautiful part of Spain. We stayed for 8 nights in May before moving onto Portugal."
"Very good location in the historic part of Badajoz. Easy walking distance of the citadel and the river. This hotel exceeded all expectations. One of the nicest hotel rooms we have ever had the pleasure to stay in. And the breakfast was outstanding, as were the staff. A lovely hotel in an interesting city."
"All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. They couldn't be more helpful. My room was very comfortable and the bathroom was sparkling clean, and had a lovely deep bath. I had a great night's sleep and went to breakfast in their restaurant which was immaculately kept, very reasonably priced and had a vast and delicious choice of foods."
"Ideally situated in the old town, within a couple of minutes walk of sights, bars and restaurants. The apartment is equipped with everything you need for a short stay. Spotlessly clean and great communication. "
"Have you ever checked into a hotel and been made to feel that you were an inconvenience? That you were interrupting someone? That you were being looked down at by someone who thought they were superior? I was fortunate in my work and now in my retirement to have traveled the world for 30 years averaging about 250 nights of travel per year. Never, ever, have I been “greeted” with such rudeness and arrogance. We were demeaned and considered leaving after our miserable experience at check in but resolved to stay and put this rudeness behind us. The next morning I was outside taking some photos and the owners Dobermans starting barking furiously. No problem — until the owner opened the door and one of the dogs came racing toward me only to screech to a halt when I screamed at the dog. The property is very nice but it is not a hotel. It is a ten room bed and breakfast. During our stay we conducted a search of reviews for this property on multiple websites. Unfortunately, we were not surprised to see a lot of bad reviews due to the rudeness and arrogance. Had we read the reviews first, we likely would have stayed somewhere else. "
