「A kind and safe sanctuary (Calaidh - is a safe port or sanctuary in Gaelic) in the old world port of Stornoway. The hotel is fitted out very nicely and also has a nice restaurant and bar. Location is outstanding. Near the port - near the downtown (shopping or touring or entertainment). The grocery store is a 2 minute walk. Off street parking was excellent. Staff were lovely. Full marks - all the way.」

「I booked a double bed room in June 2025, changed to double twin bed room in September 2025 with confirmation, and received a small double bed room. Ownership changed in February 2026, new owner told me not to received change of booking, stayed 9 days, received for 3 days extra room.」

「This is evidently a popular spot in the community, as we saw a bridal shower and a baby shower when we checked in! The restaurant is very nice, and although we only had drinks and desserts, they were very good. It was also helpful for our travel plans that they offer a continental breakfast starting at 5AM, and the full breakfast a bit later. The only two minimal things that would have been great would have been a fridge in the room, and being able to open the window a bit wider. Otherwise,...

「Breakfast was normal. I didn’t like it at all. Everyone has to share a bathroom with the whole BNB. The place was dark and creepy. It smelled musty 」
