We enjoyed this home so much and we were sad to leave. When we first saw the place from the outside we were skeptical, but as soon as we went inside we were very pleased. It is so clean, decorated beautifully and had everything we would need. A quiet little paradise. We loved sitting out on the porch in nature. A sweet little cat would join us. We will recommend this to our friends. paradise.

Wonderful Stay!

Lovely, quiet, and clean! Kitchen had extra cooking supplies and bathrooms had some extra sunscreen, etc. We had a great time here and would definitely stay again!

Beautiful property and great little house

We had a very nice stay at the Rainforest Cottage! The house is so cute and has a wide variety of kitchen items, movies, cds, and bathroom items. The outdoor shower was great. We also enjoyed the frogs at night.

Wonderful Place

We had a fantastic stay! The house is perfectly equipped and has lots of space in and around it. Nothing to complain about. We enjoyed the silence and beautiful garden after our stay in Waikiki and our kids loved to play with the cat Mango, which lives outdoor. 100% recommendation.

Beautiful rainforest cottage

The house has a great layout and has kitchen, beach, and snorkeling supplies provided. Really beautiful fruit trees, we loved trying all the fresh fruit and making smoothies with the blender. It’s a little bit of a drive to Hilo, but there are great restaurants and a farmer’s market in Pahoa and we took a lot of short trips to black sand beaches and hiking spots along the south part of the island. Also really enjoyed volcano national park and our favorite snorkeling was at Punalu’u beach with the sea turtles.

Beautiful Rainforest Cottage!!

It's truly a rainforest and so tropical. We loved the rain and enjoyed listening to all the insects and frogs. The Landscaping was beautiful! The place was cleaned, organized and we'll kept. We loved it. Definitely will rebook in the future. Thank you for sharing your cottage.

Relaxing Rain Forest Location

Overall I really liked and would recommend this rental. It was perfect for our family of four. Kids stayed in one bedroom and us in the other. We are used to a smaller house and one bath, so none of that was an issue. The outdoor shower was utilized every night and was a great experience. My fault for not realizing there wasn't AC but you do not need it and I'm glad we didn't have it. The frogs and nightly rains and island breezes were amazing. I didn't think I've slept better in my life. Beds and pillows are so comfy, I wrote Matt after we left and ordered the same pillows before we got home. Downsides are that the place needs slight updates, IMO. Overall it is a nice place and I would stay again; but you can tell that maintenance gets delayed slightly due to our of state ownership, probably. And be prepared to drive 35 min minimum to get to Hilo. More depending on day and time. The price is right though, and Matt has everything you need. I haven't stayed at a better stocked VRBO yet. If you are a coffee lover though, bring your own or buy the good stuff from a local place when you get to the Big Island.

Everything expected and needed - perfect

Had an “erupting”experience. Spent time in National Park and saw quite a fireworks display right from Volcano House overlook Pāhoa met all of our dining needs and Uncle Robert’s was as advertised. Will stay again.

Nice quiet area. Enjoyed the orange and lemon trees. Birds, frogs and bugs were quite noisy but could barely be heard when the house was closed up. A gallon pitcher, funnel and juicer would be helpful.

We loved this property! Very clean and well equipped with everything you can think of. Nicely situated to travel around the Island. Beautiful setting with fresh fruit from the trees on site. Comfortable beds. We would definitely book this property again!

Cute cottage in the Rainforest

Great location for what we had planned while on the East side of the Island. Not too far to stores and to the ocean to watch the waves. The cottage was well equipped and worked well for us. We loved the outdoor shower!! The host provided clear instructions and was easy to communicate with.
