We were coming from the North. Shortly before arriving in Palm Coast we received a call stating that we were eligible for "early check-in" and that our place was clean and ready for our arrival. We were pleased to hear that, of course, after a 20 hour trip! Shortly following that call, we received another telling us that we were unable to check in that day due to the need for pest control and were given the option to either go to St Augustine or stay at a hotel for the night. We opted for the hotel (we did not have to pay for that). Were told someone would call us the next day to inform us regarding check in status. We waited all day, and noone was updating us. My husband had to initiate several phone calls, speaking to several different people all insisting that the unit had not been cleared for check-in. Finally, at 4pm, as we sat outside of the gated entrance, still waiting for the OK, we decided to just go in. Not sure what would have happened if we waited for a call as we felt like noone really seemed to know what was going on.
As for the accomodations, the fridge started leaking onto kitchen floor, overhead kitchen lights constantly flickered when turned on so we left them off. Microwave light was dead leaving very little light in the kitchen. Electric can opener did not work. Carpets were stained in several areas. (I wondered if the owners ever visited here to check on things.)The development was lovely but I have to say that the entire experience was frustrating and will probably avoid Vacasa in the future. Definitely not worth the expense or the headache!
