Walkable location

We arrived at night and were told to only go right out of front door. There were police at the corner and we felt safe . The property is on the edge of the historic area and a very poor family neighborhood. The historic area was wonderful with great history and good restaurants.

Our stay at La Cuadra was awesome and I would definitely return and recommend it to others. It had all the amenities we were looking for and is very walkable. The building is very secure and we always felt safe, even though it's close to El Chorrillo. The building is secure and you have to be buzzed in.All of the linens and towels were great quality.The shower was large and water HOT! The apartment was VERY clean!! The washer/dryer was wonderful to have. It took a bit of work to translate the settings but we left with clean clothes!The kitchen had everything we needed; a large refrigerator, stove, utensils, Nespresso w/pods, etc! Everything in Casco Viejo is walkable. There's a Ray's supermarket that is only a couple minute walk. It was convenient for drinks, grab and go lunch, and had lots of groceries. We had rooftop access via a spiral staircase. If your hands are full, I recommend using the main staircase. It's just easier. There's a table and chairs, plus a couple lounge chairs and umbrella. Nice plants. Perfect for relaxing. I recommend you lock the gate behind you if you go to the pool. Other guests don't know that it's a private area and might take a spot on the lounger. Not a big deal! The pool was smaller than I expected and a busy place to be at times. The top deck offered beautiful views of the city. It was a bit difficult to find when we first arrived. Look for the restaurant Aya la Vida. The entrance is under a black awning facing Avenue A.
