Whanau celebration

This was an awesome place to host 80th celebration- plenty of room for 8 adults and teenagers to be together or escape if they needed to. Great to have use of kayaks and pool table. Parapara as location ' close to Vollingwood, Wharariki beach or back to Takak.

Perfect house for a large family, great deck and well equipped house. Pictures don’t do it justice. Would re-book.

Awesome property great layout plenty of everything well stocked kitchen amenities with great outlook. My only criticism would be the beds although plentiful not particularly comfortable

Great Summer Location

Great location and good size central living areas for larger groups. The downstairs sleeping area is cold and quite damp, if staying in winter I would take an extra electric heater. Lots of leisure gear available for use which is great (kayaks, body boards, cricket gear, fishing gear).

Whanau weekend

Four generations of our whanau stayed to scatter my husbands ashes at the whanau urupa, The house was perfect for us and we got to know the grandchildrens partners. Thank you for such a lovely house in such good condition.

Amazing property

Family and friend wee holiday to parapara We loved the house , it was perfect for our large group. Nice and warm, comfy bedsBeautiful viewsVery quiet street , which made it safe for kids who were coming and going to the playground conveniently located right across from the house Lovely big area , lots of seating Was a bit nervous about reading a few reviews about downstairs being cold and damp but it was fine. Lots of heaters in all the rooms I did notice a highchair and Baby bath etc which would have been usual to know about Gate at top of stairs , to make safe for toddler We throughly enjoyed this place and would come back again Thanks so much350 for a cleaning fee was a bit much

Our only issue was with the very uncomfortable beds downstairs. Prob fine for children, but not adults. Might be better to be clearer about this in ads. Plus downstairs roons beed hooks on doors. Upstairs beds cery comfortable

Wonderful family holiday home

Wonderful place for an NZ winter family break. Great holiday home, right by the beach, good heating, lots of games to play indoors, and lots to do in the local area. Ages 7 to 73 loved it.

It was easy to organise with the host, clear instructions on check in & check out. Besides abit of confusion with the payment transaction. But I would definitely rent this place again in the future! Thank you for having us! X

Location can't be beat

Paradise on the beach. Nothing to do but relax and enjoy the surroundings. Get supplies before you get there and then you'll never have to leave.

Upstairs is great, downstairs more basic

The upstairs (with 2 comfortable bedrooms and bathroom) is lovely for 4 people. Well equipped, comfortable, spacious and in a glorious setting. Downstairs (3 bedrooms) is a converted basement with some cold and dampness issues. Would probably be fine in summer. It was great to have the use of kayaks which we enjoyed very much.

Sunny, spacious & well-equiped

We highly recommend this bach for your next holiday in Golden Bay. With five bedrooms and a huge, sunny, open-plan living room there is plenty of space for everyone to relax. While the downstairs bedrooms are a bit 'basementy' and shady, they are perfect to house teenagers, with their own bathroom and a pool table/ dartboard combo to keep everyone amused. We were really impressed with the warm sunny upstairs space and the well-appointed kitchen, loads of board games, kayaks and lifejackets, BBQ etc: this place has the feel of a real family bach and we want to thank the owners for sharing their special place with us. We hope to return for another stay sometime!

Fantastic time

We loved our stay in Parapara though we were initially surprised that the downstairs bedrooms were only accessed from outside. Our three little kids coped fine though with this so all good in the end. Loved the snooker and darts and all the board games and the kayaks. Would definitely stay again.
