Winslow Cottage, Stylish Cosy Cottage with Spectacular Sea Views

  • Winslow Cottage is a delightful cosy cottage located in the Gwavas quarter of Newlyn and with links to the American maritime artist Homer Winslow. Perched above the harbour the first floor accommodation offers stunning views across Mounts Bay to St Michael's Mount and beyond. It's perfect for couples looking for a romantic and relaxing break in unspoilt Cornwall away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This typical fishing village cottage has all the character you expect, but its design and decor have that touch of elegance and luxury whilst still retaining the original features such as the steep boat style staircase. If you have a recent addition to your family we can provide a travel cot and high chair on request. The cottage is ideally situated to explore both Newlyn, Mousehole and Penzance and the spectacular coast and unspoilt areas of the beautiful West Penwith.
    Dogs are always welcome.
The outside area is a shared path with the neighbours but a small table and chairs allows you to have a glass of wine or two in the evening or breakfast alfresco in the sunshine. This gated area ensures safety from the road for dogs and children whilst you enjoy the views.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

I absolutely loved this property. Tye cottage was so cozy with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Great views of the harbour and very close to town. If you're driving, parking wasn't an issue and the bus stop is at the bottom of the hill with easy transportation across Cornwall.

Alovely little house with a beautiful view

Great location without being in an overly "touristy" town, this lovely little cottage was a great home away from home. Beautiful views across the bay towards St. Michaels Mount too.

Fabulous cottage in a fabulous town

We loved our stay. The cottage was bright and cozy. Lots of lovely touches. Importantly a great bed and shower and we loved the telescope to watch the fishing boats coming and going. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Amazing

Excellent

Beautiful cottage very close to the harbour. Mark and Fiona gave a thorough explanation on gaining access to the cottage and all instructions that I needed for the stay. The cottage was beautifully decorated, very clean and had all that I needed for my stay. I would definitely visit again.

Winslow Cottage is a beautiful and very cozy cottage. We loved every minute here. The house is lovely decorated. The location is also excellent as you are close enough to walk to restaurants, beaches, and sights by foot, yet it is located in a quiet, secure neighborhood with great sea views. Overall: Perfect!

Perfect spot

Beautiful and very well considered property. Could not have asked for more - even had a terrestrial telescope for looking across the bay. The absolute BEST sunrises and peace for the mind and body.

Newlyn cottage

We loved the fact that Newlyn was less touristy and an easy walk to Mousehole which is very pretty and unspoilt. Two local pubs we both great. The cottage was perfect for our needs but don’t expect the bed area to be spacious.

Awesome mini break

Our stay at Winslow Cottage was everything we hoped for. We wanted a quiet place to relax away from reality. The cottage was tastefully decorated and we loved the wood burner in the lounge. The only negative is we only had 3 days there. We would rent the cottage again in the future.

A darling wee cottage! Clean, modern amenities, super communications with owners. And, as shared with the owners…our concerns:1)VERY steep stairs up to Bathroom & Bedroom… handrail did not go far enough to support the last number of stairs where they turned to the top floor. 2)car park… we were ever sooo lucky to leave our rental car parked approx…150 ft./50 metres uphill on the right: approx. 5 car spaces, as FREE… otherwise figure out pay parking….just a bit lower down the hill from the Cottage. Again must say how very darling is this cottage… over looking the water, withSt.Michael’s Mount in view! And, we left our car parked for the whole5 days,4 nights… & took the bus to other places…easy to do.Bus Drivers figure out the best ticket price for where you are going! Locals we spoke with were very congenial/helpful!! The Co-Op store has all you really need for groceries! And… this is such a much more relaxed, pretty darned quiet place vs St.Ives!! We walked to Mousehole, then took bus back… Also, is easy to take bus to St.Michael’s Mount & return on a day pass. And, the double scoop ice cream cone at St.Michael’s Mount is gargantuan!! Will replace a lunch!! NOT kidding!! All in all… just wonderful!!

Lovely Cosy Cottage

Lovely little cottage, exactly as described and with everything you could need. Very grateful for the logs, which made for cosy evenings. The car parking was a little challenging, but we were made aware this could be the case, but luckily found spaces nearby. Thank you Mark and Fiona for looking after us so well!

Newlyn Bay

Property was amazing. Well decorated and everything you need. Did not expect to pay for car parking and also paying for parking did not necessarily secure a saved spot. Recommended car park would of been ok but the harbour master was not available until after the weekend. Newlyn itself was ok. Limited with places to eat.

Lovely quiet cosy cottage - great location.

Loved this cute cottage and its' location. Walking distance to Penzance and Mousehole if you need to. Able to take ferry to Scilly Isles. Convenient grocery shop for supplies also nearby pub and bakeries. The owners' attention to detail in the interior design and household appliances and supplies was amazing and was much welcomed and appreciated. View from upper floor window is spectacular. Definitely a romantic hideaway (not suitable for very young kids ie steep stair case). No parking at the cottage but a small public carpark very very close - had no problem at finding a spot during our weeks stay. Had an amazing time.

Everything you could possibly want

Winslow Cottage was a beautifully renovated little house and very clean and comfortable. We were able to park in the long stay carpark 2 minutes walk away then walk to everything we wanted, including restaurants, pubs, a small supermarket and buses to Mousehole and to Lands End. Penzance was at most a twenty minute walk along the promenade, but also an option by bus. We had views of the harbour and St Michael’s Mount from the upstairs windows (or a short walk away). Mark and Fiona were really fast at answering questions, gave great advice on things to do and places to eat, and even left us a welcome hamper with wine and biscuits, as well as tea, coffee and milk. Our only regret was that we could only stay two nights! The bedroom and bathroom are up a narrow flight of stairs but it’s an easy climb for most people.
