Nice Staff and convenient location

Very near the railway station and nice staff. The staff let us settle down those luggage in the room before they clean the room. These are the only GOOD things I can mention. The others are average or slightly below average. I chose it because I only stayed one night before I left by railway and it is really convenient to walk the station, so I sacrifice somethings.

Las paredes son muy delgadas y se escuchan todas las habitaciones. Había unos niños muy ruidosos y no podíamos descansar, nos cambiaron a otra habitación y era mejor! Muchas gracias!! Si van a venir a este hotel, solo vale la pena la habitación 5, es espaciosa, tiene un balcón con vista al lago. Está muy cerca de la estación del tren.

Hotel Beretta is in an ideal location in Varenna. Easy access to the ferries and the train. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with a large variety of options. Some rooms have balconies that have beautiful lake views. There is a great restaurant on the ground floor as well.

Great location. 5-8 minutes away from the Train and Ferry station. They also provide Breakfast. Very close to all the tourist attractions. The room we stayed in had a partial lake view, and the bed was comfortable. It is safe and clean.

Conveniently located near train station and ferry but very busy and noisy area. We requested room on second floor which was large and had a balcony but little privacy outside and loud due to constant foot traffic below. There is an elevator but only for luggage so be prepared to walk a few flights of stairs. Also sister hotel where staff is located for check in/out and a very mediocre breakfast is served is not across the street but about a block away down the road. Would likely not stay again.

Ok, expected more for price.

Service was on point, and so was the localization. However the receptions localization and breakfast is in a building 100m away which wasn’t that big of a issue. The biggest problem we had was that there was a lot of noise from the street outside but also from within the same building, this made our night sleep quite difficult. The bed was not so comfy and there was no hair conditioner available. The tv didn’t work but we didn’t come to watch television in lake como. The place was cleaned everyday. Breakfast was varied and they offered gluten-free alternatives. Overall a bit expensive for what you get.

God beliggenhet, en kort spasertur fra Varenna sentrum. Litt kronglete innsjekk via et annet hotell sin resepsjon, men gikk greit. Hyggelig personale. God frokost. Liten strand ca. 5 min. gangavstand (obs strand med hunder). Varenna er uansett nydelig og fantastisk, vi tilbrakte lite tid på hotellet:)

Room had amazing breafast included with lovely staff and incredible location. There were a few minor problems with the room such a faulty bathroom door lock and an extremely noisy and offputting extractor fan noise. The bed was also not very comfy. However, the property was clean, the location could not be any better, and the staff were extremely helpful.

This is an incredible hotel, with perhaps the best location in Lake Como. Giulia was very kind and helpful upon check-in. And the best was to come - the location and the view (if you get a lake viewing room) are unbeatable! Varenna is perhaps the best town on Como, and you are steps from the Lido (small beach), beautiful walks, and the walk up to Castello di Vezio. Regarding the room- it was super clean, comfortable and had all we needed, with nice small touches. We did not agree with any of the concerns others manifested (eg, noise)

Wonderful stay in Varenna. Room was comfortable. Not large but we really only sleep in our room. Did not find the center until our second day. Visited the botanical gardens which are beautiful. Climbed to Castello de Vezio. Challenging walk but worth it in the end. Ferry stop is very close to the hotel. We did take the Varenna Express bus back to Milan since the train tracks are under construction. Well worth the extra money. Straight trip to Milan Centrale. Would like to visit again

For €329 a night, you get a very basic room. It’s not a hotel. It’s more of an apt. There’s no reception nor concierge downstairs so if you have a question or need something, you will have to walk to a different hotel(before 8pm). The room we had did not have bedside tables, a full size mirror, mini fridge nor a safe. We had just a bed, a very small tv, a small mirror and a basic wardrobe. The location and the view is the only good thing about this place.

While I understand this is a 1-star hotel, I still expected it to be comfortable and somewhat pleasant. To be completely fair, the young man at the front desk did his best to check us in - he was very nice and helped us down the street to the other hotel they manage - the Beretta Hotel. The room was small and simple with a tiny bathroom. My first issue was the Air Conditioner not properly working, so I called the front desk for assistance, but the front desk was closed for the evening, so I called the after hours phone, which was basically useless. They told me that something was wrong with the handheld control - thank you, that’s why I called. Nothing and no one could fix it tonight - so we basically had to open the one window in the small room for air. Finally the next morning the same young man came back to fix the A/C handheld unit. We got the unit working that morning - of the second day we were there. But he forgot to check our TV which was also not working - as I had mentioned to him the second morning. Finally, on the second evening of our stay, the whole Toilet top broke off the Toilet bowl. Wow. Finally, we check out after the second night. The same young man did not offer any compensation for our miserable stay. Very disappointed with who ever the property manager and owners are. I will never come back to either hotel - the Beretta, and the other names on their door - ATOSCA Hotel, and ALBERGO Hotel or the main hotel - Hotel Montecodeno.

Tree hotel was very close to the train station and very close to the ferry’s. The hotel from the outside was not that nice but overall inside was pretty spacious and clean . The TV didn’t work and the blow dryer was not good at all. Did not like the door locks . Overall though I have to say it was good.
