While the booking was completed on Expedia, I then had to complete a pre-booking through the hotel’s check in app... then complete the actual check in on the same app,.. then show my ID to the attendant when we arrived at the hotel. It seems an ‘automated process’ should be less work, not more. Between this, the list of prescribed instructions for our stay, and the need for ear plugs for the overnight train passing (adjacent to the property), I suspect we’ll not be back.

The house and our room were exactly as expected, full of charm and very comfortable. The staff we met were also just wonderful, so welcoming and accommodating. Make sure to review the hotel policies and open/closed amenities before you book (the website isn't clear on those). Additionally, I wish we had simple access to the in-room fridge (which apparently is for mini-bar items only) -- we love shopping local and often that includes perishables.

Beautiful hotel in very nice, well maintained surroundings, and a swimming pool. 15 minute walk into downtown Perth. However you should check the cancellation policy before booking. A good idea to also thoroughly read the fine print. We discovered just prior to checking in that guests are not allowed to bring alcohol. The hotel advise that you purchase alcohol from them. In all our travel we have never come across such a policy. There is a nice bar which was closed for the two nights we stayed ! Apparently the bar is closed on weekdays and you should request "in advance" if you wish the bar to be open. We would have cancelled our reservation if we had known this at time of booking. However cancelling less than 14 days prior results in a 100% cancellation fee for the first night. Within 7 days the total amount will be charged. In our case $225.44 & $447.87 Parking is limited and on a first come, first serve basis. No information is given for alternative parking. The grounds are huge with plenty of room for additional parking. Our room was very nice. Clean, modern and well maintained. However there was no thermostat and was very cold. Only one arm chair. A small coffee table would also have helped. Beautiful bathroom with shower and separate bath tub. Could use some shelving for toiletries and bring your own Kleenex. Not provided. In all, a beautiful relaxing hotel within walking distance of the town. Just be sure to read the fine print.

Although our stay was brief, it was impressionable. We stayed in the Balvenie Suite for our wedding night and everything was perfect from top to bottom. Staff were attentive and anticipated our needs, the entire property was GORGEOUS, breakfast was bountiful and delicious. Clean, peaceful, luxurious. We will 100% come back when we can.

The staff were amazing. My partner has a allergy to scents and our room was heavily perfumed. We were able to view another room which was much better and we changed rooms and enjoyed our two nights. We really appreciated the staffs care and kindness with this issue. The breakfasts were amazing. Lots of choices. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Centrally located and close to the historical centre of town on a large private and beautifully landscaped lawn. The only thing that people should be aware of is that it is near a train track. It didn’t bother me but if you’re a sensitive sleeper they do provide ear plugs.

The large bathtub was great to soak in after a long day and the included bath salts were nice. The bed could be way better for what the place is. Creaky and low to the ground. I’ve had better beds at the holiday inn. Location was convenient to walk to old area for shopping and food. Grounds were nice.

Beautiful property, wonderful pool and the staff is the best. We came in with chemical allergy issues. They went above and beyond to make sure my spouse was comfortable. My daughter and I had a WONDERFUL stay and were made to feel very special. Royal, even! The suite was stunning, the food delicious, the setting idyllic and the service perfect. From the moment we were greeted at the door and given slippers to wear, we were treated like queens. We will go back!
