Lovely country getaway

This property is incredible. So many carefully thought out spaces to enjoy the outdoors, including the amazing pool area. And the sunsets! Beautiful. The living space inside was wonderful and lovely decor. Everytime you walked into a space there was something new to enjoy. Carmelo warmly welcomed us and has great suggestions for food and places to go tour. The only thing to consider is being outside of any town/city centre there are dogs in the area that at times can get a little loud.

Charming Antique Country House

This charming house was beautiful and relaxing. It has a beautiful pool to relax in after seeing the sights of Sicilia. The perfect garden for morning coffee or evening wine. It’s listed as a 3 bedroom, but one of the bedrooms is only accessible by a ladder. I think 2 bedroom is more accurate. The managers were very accessible and accommodating. They even noticed that two of us were celebrating our birthdays and surprised us with gifts! The biggest suggestion for this unique and charming place is to have better signage at their gate and more explicit directions. Our navigation failed to direct us accurately. Once you know where it is, it’s easy to find. We thoroughly enjoyed our 11 day stay.

Long weekend in Sicily

We had a great time in this villa. A bit of a drive from Palermo, but a 5 minute drive to a nearby town for groceries etc, otherwise we were content sitting by the pool all day as the house was set up well to allow for this.

Quirky and lovely

We were looking to stay in the Sicilian country to be away from the major tourist towns and this house fit the bill. Eclectic in its decor and furniture, this 300+ year old house is a treat. However, if you choose to walk around the area, we did encounter a few rabid dogs and ended up taking the long way around, having to brave the main road, which doesn't have a proper pavement. Only the main bedroom is air-conditioned and the third bedroom is up a narrow ladder. It was an adventure and we even organised a taxi to and from Pietraperzia. Carmelo is a wonderful and gracious host.

We had a wonderful family holiday at the property from 23 July to 3 August. The secluded location up a track was hard to find at first at night, but it's seclusion is a highlight of staying here.Our host Carmello warmly welcomed us with a house tour and left clear instructions for WiFi and local tips.The property was much larger than expected, with a spacious kitchen, huge dining table (unused as we ate outside), and a cozy living room with three sofas. Two bathrooms and three bedrooms, including a mezzanine-style third bedroom accessed by a steep ladder, suited our 15yo daughter perfectly. Our 18yo son took the double room, and we stayed in the largest. The house was filled with thoughtful decor—books, art, and vintage furniture—making it very cozy.Outside, multiple seating areas, a large BBQ, and a huge gazebo in the gardens with sofas offered great spots to relax. The expansive grounds had gardens, statues, and tables.The large pool with a decent deep end was very impressive, though more sunshades are needed as the single one wasn’t enough. We spent so much time here. Rural Sicily’s power limits caused occasional outages, resolved by conserving electricity.Sat Nav led us astray on dirt tracks; stick to the main road. A Conad supermarket 8 mins away was great, but ignore map errors pointing to a nonexistent one.We loved Barkollo ma non mollo in town for its amazing, cheap pizzas and views.Highly recommend this off-the-beaten-track gem in Sicily!Thanks.

Une maison idéalement située. Un vrai musée rempli de brics et de brocs, pas toujours très pratique, mais tellement original et tranquille (malgré quelques aboiements de chiens au loin). Un accueil hyper chaleureux par Carmelo, qui reste totalement à disposition si besoin, vraiment top. Merci beaucoup Carmelo. Nous recommandons ce coin de tranquillité, idéalement situé au centre de l'île.

Amazing stay

We had an amazing time at this villa. There is a large garden with lots of cozy places to hang out, and the pool was very clean and pretty big. The landlord was super easy to contact and helped us with everything we needed. Really recommend this place! One negative thing is that it was really hot when we were there and only air condition in the master bedroom. But after a few days we got used to it.

A holiday we will never forget.

We had a fantastic stay in the most beautiful surroundings. A house to be experienced and the same with the beautiful surroundings outdoors. The pictures are good, but it is far more beautiful in reality. During our 2 week stay we found many great shopping opportunities nearby which made it easy for us to shop in to enjoy dinners in the house. The house is older but had all what we needed. We loved being there and enjoying all the beautiful nooks and crannies around. And the pool is amazing to use during the hot days! Thanks to Olga and Carmelo, for being super hosts. They are very helpful when you have questions during your stay and we enjoyed our stay… also thank you for the delicious croissants! We will never forget this journey.

The authentic Sicilian villa

Peaceful, charming and restoring. The villa has everything you need to chill out in the middle of this fabulous Italian land. Yes, it’s hot as Hades but the pool will abide and the atmosphere tranquil. There are curiosities everywhere you look and then some. Loved it! Caveats: AC in one bedroom only and no shade by the pool (Mcguyvered with sheets, safety pins and pool tool poles). Pino the cat will welcome you as well. Ciao.

Rustic Authenticity with a Great Pool

Our family used this property in central Sicily as a home base to explore this enchanting island. The house is an authentic Sicilian farm house with unique characteristics preserved to maintain the home's original layout and design. While this may not be the approach to a more modern home, it was a great opportunity to experience rural life of centuries ago. This does not mean that the house is without amenities. The modern pool provided many hours of enjoyment for our family, there is air conditioning in the master suite and a dishwasher. We enjoyed a great family dinner which we were able to cook in the fully stocked kitchen and enjoy in the comfortably cool dining room. Carmelo was responsive and went out of his way to resolve any issues that arose. For example, we lost water one night due to a break in the local municipal water line. By 6 AM, he accompanied a water truck to the property to ensure that the houses water reserves were stocked and we could shower, do dishes, etc . . .

Traumhafte Unterkunft in paradiesischer Umgebung.

Wir konnten unser Glück kaum fassen als wir vom Eigentümer empfangen und herumgeführt wurden. Die Beschreibung kann dieses Objekt nur ungenügend wiedergeben. Ein absoluter Traum.

herrliches Anwesen - Sizilien pur

Ein fantastisches Haus, ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen; doch gerade deshalb umso lebendiger. Der Garten ist wunderbar, es gibt immer wieder kleine Stillleben, mal versteckt, mal schon fast völlig zugewachsen, zu entdecken. Ungemein betörend ist der Duft von Rosmarin, Lavendel, Salbei und, und...Der Pool ist grandios... Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet - bei unserer Ankunft haben wir alles vorgefunden, was erstmal gebraucht wird. Auch auf Handtücher etc. hat man immer Zugriff. Wir denken, das ist der Hausherrin auch sehr wichtig. Kurz und gut; wir haben die 2 Wochen hier einfach nur genossen und wünschen daher Olga und Carmelo viel Kraft für den Erhalt dieses herrlichen Fleckens. Frank und Andrea aus Berlin

Tranquility, style and nature - just wonderful

This old country house has been restored with attention to detail, a beautiful place to relax and recharge batteries. We had a wonderful time and already look forward to coming back next year. Carmelo and his partner are excellent hosts and helped us greatly to manage quarantine rules. Thank you!

Toller Aufenthalt auf einer wunderschönen Insel

Das Haus ist sehr hübsch eingerichtet und der Pool verschafft Abkühlung. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das gesamte Anwesen ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Hier und da könnte alles etwas sauberer sein und müsste erneuert werden. Die Poolliegen sind ein Alptraum und die Gartenmöbel sollten auch so sauber gemacht sein, dass man sie nutzen kann. Der Garten ist eine Augenweide und sehr weitläufig aber müsste besser gepflegt werden... insgesamt ist das Objekt aber zu empfehlen.

Unsere Erfahrung

Es ist ein wunderschönes Ferienhaus mit einem zauberhaften Grundstück! Wir haben uns so wohl gefühlt. Einziger Minuspunkt ist die Lage, da wir wirklich viel unternommen haben und somit zu jeder Stadt mindestens 1 Stunde fahren mussten. Aber ansonsten ist es absolut weiterzuempfehlen.

Die Vermieter sind äusserst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Mietobjekt selber ist originell. Es hat viel Platz. Da ist ein Künstler am Werk gewesen.

Could not recommend enough

Where do I start, this property is an absolute gem. We were a group of 4 that stayed for 8 nights and could not get over how beautiful the villa and property were. The pool area is perfect for soaking up the sun, and the small seated areas around the property give you lots of really cool areas to hang out in. The villa itself has so much space, and Olga & Carmelo were super friendly and easy to deal with. Would 100% come back and stay here again

Hidden treasure in the middle of Sicily

Beautiful property situated in a very quiet location. Olga and Carmelo are very responsive and helpful. Kids enjoyed the garden and huge swimming pool.

Klein paradijsje

We hebben genoten van dit paradijs. Als je iets zoekt wat vrij ligt met veel privacy en niet ver weg (met auto) van een dorpje dan is dit de juiste keus. Een heerlijk zwembad, veel terrasjes zowel in de schaduw als in de zon. Beneden is veel ruimte, boven iets minder. 2 slaapkamers. Ja het staat erg vol maar dat vonden wij ook zijn charme hebben. Goede samenwerking met eigenaar en voldoende tips gekregen voor activiteiten in de regio

Dusty interior, large garden, very disappointing experience

Although the house looks nice from the outside and is situated in a large garden, all of the furniture in the garden and especially indoors is old and grubby. One of us has a light dust allergy, which spruced up to very serious inside this house. The rather dark and somehat smelly interior is filled with dusty bric-a-brac, there are layers of dust on the old walls and between the wooden floors of the bedrooms, as well as in and underneath the many old carpets. We cleaned the bedroom for one hour (removing dust from underneath the carpets, from the wall and from the bedside tables), but had a rough night in both of the stuffy bedrooms. We thus decided to leave immediately the next day. The owner's passive-aggresive reaction indicated that we could forget about any partial refund (we had booked 4 nights), even for the cleaning fee, hinting that this might be expected in an old building. However, during our otherwise agreeable stay in Sicily we stayed in different old buildings which were properly cleaned. In an otherwise extremely satisfactory holiday in Sicily, we quickly found a lovely replacement on the coast.

Zauberhaft

Wir waren vier Personen und haben uns aufgrund der guten Bewertungen für dieses Objekt entschieden. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Haus war in einem super Zustand? Alles war sauber und schön ein- bzw. hergerichtet. Die Eigentümerin hat uns anfänglich alles umfassend erklärt und kam jeden Tag vorbei, um sich um den Kamin zu kümmern. Das Haus selber entspricht der Beschreibung aus dem Inserat. Der Garten ist traumhaft, selbst bei “nur” 16°C. Die Küche war mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt, um sich fürstlich zu bekochen. Ein Supermarkt ist in 5-10 Minuten mit dem Auto erreichbar. Wir waren begeistert und haben das Haus bereits erneut gebucht.
