"Amazing, quite unique, hotel floating in the middle of a lake with snow capped mountains in the backdrop, picture perfect. BUT that's it. There's really nothing else to do here, as you rely on food SOLEly provided by the hotel and there's no other external sources for food being so remote and the portions are small so pack some snacks, instant noodles. Aims for some fine dining vibe, but the quality is sub-par, may be due to meals being included in the price. The food alone would convince you...

"What a lovely location and quiet place to stay after a day in Cradle mountain NP. So close you can go in the park early before shuttle starts. There are few hotels available so we picked this one and are not disappointed. Price is on a high side but expected. Dinner need reservation if you want to be in the dining room but food is good. Breakfast buffet is superb with choices of both hot and cold. Unusual to have balsamic stir fry spinach and mushroom in addition to the usual. Nice to have Chia pudding and 2 types of yogurt and fresh fruits. The free laundry with detergents at the counter is unexpected and a plus. Only 2 washers and 2 dryers so you need to get in the queue and start asap when you get in. Overall very happy with the place. "
"This is a good value for money country motel. It is very efficiently run and the restaurant is amazing, make sure you check it out if you're staying here!"
"My room was super clean and surrounded by wildlife. I also booked a treatment at the Waldheim spa as well as two times the private sanctuary (at it was just stunning). The crew over there was so so nice. Especially Senna who gave me lots of nice recommendations about the area and north east of tassie. A wonderful and absolutely unexpected breathtaking stay! I also loved that you can spot platypuses in the lake at the lodge. "
"The staff are very welcoming, the cabin is a simple layout, but spacious and clean. Lovely to have a balcony in the woods to sit and watch for wildlife. We had one meal in the restaurant and the food was very good."

Aims for some fine dining vibe, but the quality is sub-par, may be due to meals being included in the price. The food alone would convince you not to stay any longer. The whole dining system is uncomfortable, you may need to share a table with other guests. You can request to be seated by yourselves but this isn't explicitly offered and it seemed those were limited, and issues the way you get seated, the better seats by the window with the view vs the dull wall, staff guide you to your table and there was a complaint raised by someone on just that issue at the dining hall, very uncomfortable. We were also looking forward to some bike riding but the roads have so many pot holes it was a dreadful ride in even in a car, you're not going out on bikes, not if you're after a pleasant peaceful ride. Same goes for the drive down from Launceston, the road going over the mountain is horrendous, avoid it and go around the lake, that's quite a pleasant drive which we took on the return. Again the place is just amazing, something out of a story book, so definitely one to check off on your bucket list."
