My niece lives in Plainville, MA and was getting married. Her mother and I chose this place for its convenience of location, as the wedding was in nearby Walpole. The PLUS was that we had a very roomy, peaceful place to stay. We, originally, chose this one so our siblings could, also, stay with us. Unfortunately, there was just a bath and a half with low toilets. (Two full baths and a half would have worked out better for our “Baby Boomer” generation…to get ready for a wedding.) It ended up being just my sister and myself which made it kind of pricey for just two people, when it was spacious enough for several more…..BUT…
It was SO quiet, peaceful, beautiful and restful with the two of us that we hope to rent
this home again in the near future. With the roomy space we were able to host a very nice picnic for family and friends (including the newly weds)! We had 14 over the day after the wedding and it was a very comfortable place for entertaining. Plenty of sitting and eating spaces both inside and out. The afternoon before we left, we had a nice luncheon for six. It was very nice to be able to host these two special visits!
We did not (this visit) take advantage of the boat, canoe, paddle boards or kayaks….but they were there if we wanted them…We did, however, enjoy the rocking chairs on the deck, overlooking the lake and the chairs on the floating dock. We could watch the sunset from there and we REALLY ENJOYED the multitude of birds….loved the waterfowl,
as well. We were there for the duckling and gosling season! So cute! There were beautiful, graceful swans, you could hear the frogs singing….it was a most memorable vacation…LOVED IT!
