Great updated unit.

We loved the unit views and balcony. Sadly, the jacuzzi jets did not work very well. Also, the amount of seaweed on the beach causes difficulty enjoying the beach in front of the property. The beach is more enjoyable closer to the pier.

Wonderful view and sea breezes

We enjoyed our stay by the sea at El Faro. Check in went well and resort was as pictured. Our host Benjamin was friendly and responsive to all requests for kitchen items, water, etc. There were a few issues: washing machine did not work, all beds hard, and every night extremely loud music from the next door restaurant/bar continued late into the evening- had to keep the sliding doors shut.

4 day stay Playa Del Carmen

It’s the best spot in Playa ! Steps from the beach , pool , Zenzi beach Club and 5th Ave two blocks away, end corner Condo has Ecxellent views from two sides own Jacuzzi! Highly recommend.

The Best!!!

We stayed at the property for 3 nights, 4 days. The property is in an excellent location, next to food, shops, bars, and the beach!! You couldn't ask for a better location. Everything is within walking distance. The condo was very spacious and with great accommodations. What is the best part of this unit? The balcony and its views!!! It was amazing to wake up early to see the sunrise on the beach balcony. Amazing!! As far as what the condo provides: towels, beach towels, all the kitchen gadgets and appliances you might need for your stay, and a huge plus, drinking water. We rented a vehicle and the option of having where to park it was a huge plus for us. A/C worked amazing during our stay, beds were comfortable, washer and dryer provided were also a huge plus. I can't say enough good things about this condo!! Communication with the property manager was excellent and the personnel that work on the property were always accommodating and super friendly. Don't sleep on it!! Book this unit! You won't regret it!

Mesmerizing views!

We had an excellent stay - so easy to get to the center of Quinta, Wal Mart and all the shops and restaurants. No need for a car at all. View was magnificent. We enjoyed listening to the live band at Zenzi bar next door while sitting on the balcony at night. Once inside the condo, it was barely audible and never kept us awake. The only negative was the full bed in the second bedroom (farthest from the bathroom) had a big dip in the mattress, and after the first night, my sister in law resorted to the couch to sleep at night. We loved that housekeeping came every other day and kept towels and paper products stocked. Also, the in unit washer/dryer was a huge advantage! Bottled water was also well stocked. Would absolutely stay here again!

We loved our time at this condo! The views were amazing, the location is perfect for being able to walk the Avenida, and the staff was responsive when we needed assistance. My family and I would go back in a heartbeat!

Wonderful Property and Staff

We stayed in PDC for a few days before moving onto Akumal. This place was a perfect start to our trip. The unit was clean and all the staff were very helpful, from the garage security, to the front desk (Carina was great to work with) to cleaning and maintenance. Very impressed. We will return to this location. Thanks again!

What a view!

El Faro Surf 309 has to have one the best views in Plays Del Carmen. The moment you walk in the door you are surrounded by water. Jeffery with 5 Star is awesome. Great communication and easily switched our date of stay to accommodate our travel itinerary. Everything was great except the beds in our room. We definitely expected better. We actually slept on the couch a few nights because the beds in the condo were that bad. Which meant we had to listen to the very loud music from across the street. The noise isn’t terrible in the bedrooms but the living room is very noisy until around 4 am when the DJ stops playing. With That said, we would stay at El Faro again, but probably in a different unit.

Spectacular view!

The view of the sea from multiple balconies was spectacular. Easy check in, spacious, short walk to many restaurants, and the music from the neighboring beach club was actually a nice addition (only heard it from the balcony, not the bedrooms). A couple of cons about the area—first time in Playa Del Carmen and they built very close to shore line so not my favorite walking beach; very crowded on the weekend; condo is fixing a walkway in front of the pool so there is some unattractive tape in front of the view between the pool and sea.

Great View

This condo is right next to a beach bar. The music can get a little loud of an evening, but it didn't bother us. It didn't impact our ability to go to sleep. If you wanted a very quite place, this condo might not be for you. The beach and pool were great! We didn't have a car and it worked out fine. We could walk the 4-5 blocks to Wal-Mart and then took a 100 peso cab back to the condo. There's a cab stand with posted prices (a little high but at least posted) which was nice. The TV in the living room was a smart TV and it was great that we could easily watch Netflix and other things. I would definitely go back.

Summer break

Overall, we had a wonderful time, it is unfortunate that there is so much seaweed on the beach, but there is not much to do about that. We ended up not getting the room reserved due to electrical issues and the new room had its own issues resulting in the need to work with management continually. They were responsive and seemed to do their best, but it was disappointing.

Incredible Location and Views

This location is amazing. The grounds, pool, and property were immaculate. Everyone who works on site was so nice and professional. The condo was perfect for our family. We were able to grocery shop just 5 blocks away at Walmart and use the kitchen for breakfasts and snacks and mixing cocktails. Our views were insane. Watching the sunrise every morning from our deck with coffee in hand and hearing the waves crash on the beach was awesome. The management team and staff were 5 star. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Great Location. -1/2 block from 5th Fabulous wraparound deck with lounger chairs - great views! -3 Bathrooms -Nice kitchen, good amenities for condo -"feels safe" 24Hr security -It has a very nice pool, -be nice if open later than 10pm Although beach not private, it effectively is a private space... not many non guests hang out here. -Internet -CircleK right downstairs for little necessities. (10pm curfew for liquor) and pharmacy across street Grocery with in a couple blocks and Walmart if needed. Location and view were great. It has a very nice pool and attendant gets you umbrella as soon as you get there. Great amenities for a condo. The sargassum was pretty bad but that is not the property’s fault. Please note that there is not much of a beach in this area. The people we dealt with at check in and also through email were amazing. I will definitely stay here again

Great stay

We had everything we needed. Location and view were great. It has a nice pool. Great amenities for a condo. The sargassum was pretty bad but that is not the property’s fault. To my surprise the smell was not that bad. Please note that there is not much of a beach in this area. Not sure if it was due to a hurricane/storm. You have to walk past Hilton resort, almost to the Mahekal resort for a nice beach area. Or you can walk towards the ferry side. Security at the condo is great. The people we dealt with at check in and also through email were amazing. I will definitely stay here again.

Great Stay Overall

So overall value of this stay was very high. Two full 3rd floor balcony views of the Ocean would cost you $500 a night at any hotel. Its a condo , that apparently is currently for sale; so I'd guess owners are upside down and are looking to re-cover money anyway possible. Pros... -Location. -1/2 block from 5th -Views. Wrap around Deck is saweet! -3 Bathrooms -Nice kitchen -"feels safe" 24Hr security -It is a very nice pool, -be nice if open later than 10pm Although beach not private, it effectively is a private space... not many non guests hang out here. -Master suite has ocean balcony -Internet -Price After smoke clears... its $220-$250/NIGHT! -CircleK right downstairs for little necessities. (10pm curfew for liquor) Cons: -Stove is junk. Buttons so worn out you cant even read them. We didn't use, so no big deal to me..... -Things are needing a little TLC. Handyman could have place whipped back into shape in a week, if owners would just do it. Just little things.... paint, patching, loose tiles. -Only 2 guests allowed .....(although after 9, front desk folks are nowhere to be found; so not sure how they'd police that) -There's a bar next door that rocks pretty good on weekends... until midnight. then things settle down. -if you're a night owl.... that wouldn't matter, but if you go to bed at 8..... might be an issue. -Furniture a bit worn out. Indoor and outdoor. Trip to Ikea would do wonders. -Some Excusions in the area dont "recognize" Residences El Faro

I was really happy with the location of the condo, so close no rental car needed. Kids loved the pool. Everything nice and clean. Provided lots of extra blankets and pillows. Very happy with my stay!

El Faro Surf 309

El Faro is located in a great location that is close to the beach and close to 5th Street. The El Faro pool is the best on the beach! What a great setup. The El Faro staff were very accommodating and helpful. El Faro is a mere 10 min walk to Walmart (it has everything!) to get what you need if tired of eating out (which can get expensive if you stick around the 5th Street area). The suite outdoor area is great for morning sun, evening sun or getting out of the wind depending on which way it blows. The beds were comfortable. Kitchen well stocked. One thing that could use a refresh is the couch...Not all that comfortable. Would stay again in the suite for sure.
