Property needs a serious overhaul as soon as possible and as fast as possible. Departments need to be trained on a regular basis. (Engineering contractors need to be instructed to conduct any conversations in an area out of guest view.) First room alloted wasn't great and had a rather disgusting health faucet. Second room was decent. Coffee mugs were broken and caused a spill. (IRD) Received no apologies regarding the same. Hallways were a mess and were dirty, with footprints and dust. Housekeeping trolleys were kept in the reception lobby throughout the day. Did not feel that this hotel was a part of IHCL except for the staff service.

Pros: the hotel offers excellent value for what it offers. The room is comfortable and quiet, the bed and bedding are very good, A/C quiet, shower good water pressure, very good breakfast (Indian and Western) and all the staff are super nice and helpful, especially the supervisor Narajan who went the extra mile for me. Very bad dingy hotel

Was a very bad experience staying at ginger, it was unclean, rooms where dingy , ac filter needed to cleaned, I developed a bad sore cough. Most wierd part was the way they generate the room charges...very bad overall for so called tata enterprise

- Staff at reception is very friendly and helpful - Room is okay, but rather small - very loud AC - breakfast is of minor quality and taste, dirty cups and dishes, breakfastroom was very loud and crowded

A Big Disappointment

This hotel doesn't have much going for it: poor location far from Puducherry, mediocre housekeeping, bad maintenance, small rooms, too expensive for what it offers. The second night I was there, at around 1:00am, an electrical plug right next to me bed caught fire, I put it out and call reception. Afer some deliberation, they gave me another room but the AC didn't work. I checked out the following day and didn't pay for that disturbing night.

Issues and more issues

This was the only hotel with open rooms left during new year and now we know why. The hotel and service was absolutely horrible. We arrive late at night on new years eve. I had booked the hotel over a month in advance with all of our preferences listed. NONE of our preferences were met. We had asked for non-smoking rooms that were adjacent to one another. We received smoking rooms that were not adjacent to each other. We were able to change rooms to another floor for non-smoking rooms. Additionally, every bathroom had a horrible smell that required air freshener to be sprayed every hour and the bathrooms had no ventilation. The shower heads were rusted and the room could use a renovation overall. Our room card didn't work and we had to call the security guard to let us into our room every time we returned to our room. Our late night new years celebrations ended up being cancelled due to trying to resolve all of these issues. Luckily the hotel reimbursed us for 1 room's cost for 2 nights. However, this was the most expensive hotel stay of all the hotels I have stayed in and this was the absolute worst facility out of all of them. (I stayed in 4 different hotels all better/cleaner and MUCH cheaper than this one). The only positive thing I can say is that the Wi-Fi worked very well.

Service was pathetic, small low category room

Service was pathetic, small low category room, overprice room rent, no value for money I have paid 5500/night for double bed room, it was so small with small television. Toilet flush was not working properly. Service was pathetic. After calling 4 time and complaining on reception they given 1 complementary towel which supposed to be 2 for double bed room. I stay there for 2 night paid Rs 11000 /- which was total waste. I was trying to checkout next day but it was not possible. I will never recommend to any one this hotel at all.

Ginger Puducherry a blot on Tata’s brand name

This property is a blot on Tata brand. Property is maintained so poorly. Since they brand it budget category, probably they feel customers have to put up with very bad maintenance.

smart stay

The stay at ginger was nice and conmfortable . Reception staff was smily and helpful specially monalisa.Rooms were small but comfortable.house keeping updated daily.We called for extra pillow which was promptly attended too.The reception area was quite open and had cafe coffe day and a small neat restaurent .we wished to stay for two days only, but exteneded our stay for one more day , what more to say.Overall nice experience.

Value for Money

Its my second stay in the same hotel, so i knew not to expect too much. The AC was making a loud noise when switched on, they fixed it eventually.overall decent stay
