They have all to be excellent

It is an extraordinary place, an old building in the old city of Popi with wonderful views of the valley next to the Popi castle with private parking next door. However, it has many details that could improve the room, which is quite poorly decorated, with bathroom accessories of very poor quality, the mattress is old and soft. In short, the room could be of a different quality than what it is.

Beautiful room with amazing view

When I was booking the hotel I saw a review complaining about the decor - crazy! The room is super large and beautifully decorated with a very authentic style. The view from our room was breathtaking. Location was perfect. Things to consider - no AC, just fan... in July, not great. Breakfast is good, but kind of simple and few options if you have food allergies. Parking can be a bit hard to find after late hours. Chairs around the table were not in great condition. But pros compensate the cons.

Other than finding the property address wasn’t available on my TomTom everything else was fine. Very attentive and helpful receptionist, incredible views. Adequate but simple breakfast. Nice bathroom but the shower unit was small and rather flimsy. Very comfortable bed and good reading light which often seems lacking in Italy.

This hotel was old but extremely charming. The view from our balcony of the Tuscan valley was exquisite. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Poppi. It is located right at the base of the castle at the top of the historic center
