Beach Getaway

This is our 4th or 5th time staying in this beach cottage. We always bring our dogs with us and love that we are only 200 steps from the beach. Barbara is an awesome host and is quick and responsive. The place is always kept clean and is in a nice quiet neighborhood. We will definitely be returning over the years.

Great little cottage

Wonderful location. Walking distance to Shipwreck Raw bar, just a few steps from the beach. Perfect for a couple or small family.

Brief Birthday Trip

We had a great, relaxing stay at Mrs. Barbara’s place. Everything was as stated and shown in the pictures. Super cute 1 bedroom/1bath unit. We would definitely stay there again.

Relaxing beach vacation

Great place to stay

We enjoyed staying here. It had all we needed for a day at the beach with the wagon, chairs and umbrella and a short walk across the street. The beach was never crowded. Just a short drive to restaurants and shops and Panama City Beach less than an hour away.

Fantastic beach stay!

This property was perfect for our beach weekend getaway with our dogs. Clean, nice space that was very comfortable. Right across from the beach with easy access. Hosts were wonderful and easy to work with. Can’t recommend enough!

Girls trip fun

Great location, right across the street from the beach. Easy walk with wagon provided for our beach stuff. Be aware of the time difference as Mexico beach is central time and the house is in Eastern time. We had a wonderful girls trip.

Tiny & comfy

This place was great for our needs. Tiny but comfy with great beds, comfy couch & plenty of seating. Great shower & well appointed kitchen. Loved the outdoor area. There was a problem with the check in as the address given by VRBO is not the actual address. This needs to be updated. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Beautiful Sunsets

Stayed one month - January. Location to the beach is awesome. Cross one street and you are there! Town of Port St Joe is so charming and friendly. Apalachicola is not to far away and is another great small town. Must visit the beautiful state parks in the area. Barbara is a wonderful hostess and very attentive. Will be back!

Great experience overall!

At first you may think that a double decker will be loud neighbors, but we didn’t hear a peep. Very nice accommodations, every detail has been thought out from the knife sharpener To the beach chairs and toys. It’s was the perfect size for the 2 of us, but if you had small kids, it would be perfect for you, too. Great location, and we are very glad we stumbled across this cute home.

Beach is calling!

After a horrible thunderstorm on arrival, the skies cleared. I enjoyed morning coffees on the outdoor patio couch. The beach is just across the street. The unit was very comfortable. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking although I ate out often. Best restaurant is Shipwreck just a block away. The area is very quiet and feels safe.

Downstairs Beach House Rating

It was clean and just a short walk to the beach. Owner was quick to respond when I had questions. However the couch looked worn and showed signs that animals might have been on it. And if someone was upstairs walking around, we could definitely hear them. Even though I’d give this place an overall 4, we definitely wouldn’t stay in a downstairs again where you can hear people walking upstairs.

Location is prime, house is not

The proximity to the beach is what made this trip awesome. However, it was difficult to get past the noise upstairs from the other renters. The house is not properly insulated so you hear EVERYTHING from creaky floor boards to full on conversations from the other renters. Listing needs to clearly indicate this is a shared property, and this is the downstairs unit.
