Family Vacation

Our family (5 adults, 1 teen, and 2 children) had a nice stay here. The house was clean and as described. We were really close to the beach, which was nice. The only concern was that one of the upstairs bathroom has a bent drain cover that should be replaced. My 5 year old hurt his foot on it.

Memorial Day 2024 review

The overall house was nice and we loved the location. It was great to be so close to the beach. Unfortunately we had plumbing issues that caused sewage to come up into our shower. We appreciate the promptness of the rental company and plumbers to get it fixed but was inconvenient. Also, the drain in the upstairs bathroom shower needs to be replaced. It has a sharp piece that is going to cause an injury.

I will avoid this place until management changes

First, we stayed in this exact unit last year and it was great. Also, I am a host myself with a perfect rating over multiple years so I don’t leave a bad review easily. But this year something changed because check in turned into a fiasco where I was attempting for hours to get the door code. Adding insult to injury, despite the VRBO reservation clearly stating a 10:00 check out time, we were contacted at 9:39 via phone to inform us that even though the reservation was 10:00 check out and the property was located in the Central time zone, the check out time was of a different time zone. And that we would be charged an extra $100. I then visited the management company after checking out to ask whether they cared that such practices would alienate guests and thereby not be good for the actual unit owner and was met with complete indifference. I said last year the stay was easy and was told “we didn’t manage it last year”. No kidding. The shame is that the home itself is nice and we would probably have booked for a third year but there is no way now. If the actual unit owner wishes to discuss this I am happy to. I hate leaving a bad review but at no point with multiple chances did this service behave acceptably.
