"Hotel is traditional European style, beautiful wood, simple towels and bedding. Bathrooms impeccable, modern.
Dinner and breakfast excellent.
Location is excellent for touring Voltera. Note: Voltera is very hilly; the property is a walk uphill to the city center. Very convenient."

"Lovely property inside the city walls but away from the high traffic tourist areas. Well equipped with everything you need. Easy check in. We had a lovely visit in Volterra."

"What a beautiful place! It’s a wonderful place to take the kids to just be kids and have fun. Our kids took riding lessons and a cooking course, both wonderful. We were too early to enjoy the pool, but that would have been a highlight too if open.
We didn’t rent car for this trip, we wanted to force ourselves to just relax, but one would have been needed to explore more or a longer stay. The restaurant was perfect on-site - but make sure to book reservations daily, it gets busy at dinner! "

"Very cozy place for my one night stay in the Tuscany Countryside. Room is clean the tidy, pool looks amazing but weather was too chilly to use on my day of arrival. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would love to come back again.
P.S. the cat is cute and friendly "

"This family owned villa is run by Francesca and her family. They were phenomenal. The beautiful villa was recently converted into a boutique hotel and has every state of the art amenity. The rooms were large and the bathrooms were spacious! The view from our room over the vineyard was awe inspiring. You can see the town of San Gimignano in the distance and it is just a short drive away. We picked this location because we wanted to visit the town and the Tenuta Torciano winery. It was just...

Le Macine, a wonderful ancient restored watermill with Pool
10/10 Excellent
"Wow! Even better than the photos. The house is very clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed and more. Alessandro was the perfect host and was very welcoming. We spent most days in the pool and evenings sitting on the patio area watching the wildlife. It was the perfect base to explore the beautiful countryside and towns. I only wish our stay had been longer and I really hope we can return. "
Swimming Pool, 5 Minutes to Volterra Center, 4 Sleeps
8/10 Good
"It's hard to find an apartment with a pool within easy walking distance of Volterra town centre but apartment "Milianti" is just that, there can't be many others. Perched on the South side of the town, the bedrooms and covered veranda have stunning views across Tuscany countryside. The pool is a good size, it is shared between the four apartments but the others do not appear to be holiday lets and nobody else used it in the week we stayed. The Wi-Fi was good, the kitchen/diner was well equipped and the shower was fine with hot water all the time. There are about 25 steps down from the dedicated parking space to the property. The walk into the beautiful town is 11 minutes uphill, there are plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from, there is also a small Co-op supermarket 10 minutes walk away. Apartment "Milianti is pleasantly decorated but a gentle update could make it feel more current. It's a shame that there's no lounge area in the apartment or on the veranda but there is one by the pool.I have to mention that the host/agent had double booked the apartment for our first night. When we notified them, they responded immediately and offered us an alternative apartment, "Borgo Catignano", 20 minutes drive away near Mazzola, they also refunded the first nights fee. We moved into apartment "Milianti" the following day. It was an unfortunate mistake but everything was done to correct it. We loved our stay at apartment "Milianti" and would certainly go back."
"The apartment is very conveniently located near all the major attractions in Volterra. It was very comfortable and clean with a large, modern bathroom and nicely appointed kitchen. There is parking not too far away and we used the recommended parking app so we didn’t have to constantly add hours or minutes to our parking. We did get permission to drive into the ZTL zone to drop off our luggage but I would not recommend doing that unless one has a very small car and are comfortable driving into narrow alleys. The apartment is on three floors so it is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. We are in our 70s and didn’t have any issues but hauling suitcases up stairs might be a problem for some."
