“Good to have parking. A good perk is free parking. The basement level has a beautiful library and conference room that looks like the hull of a ship. The restaurant in the hotel is good but pricey. The Nathaniel Hawthorne clam chowder is a small bowl and expensive....Walking distance to many things. Rooms are small and the bed fills up most of the room. No view to speak off. But it is a heritage hotel and the connection to Hawthorne was why I stayed. The staff were pleasant and helpful.”

“I LOVED the Salem Inn. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was such an amazing addition and the staff were friendly and helpful. The witches brew coffee was a fun way to start a day in Salem. I stayed in the Curwen House and it had a sherry nightcap available every evening - which was such a cute and fun touch. The location is perfect because it is right downtown, without being on top of the action - so you can walk 5 minutes but still have your quiet room at……

“The room was great- exactly as described. The gentleman owner was kind - lived on the premises and spent a lot of our stay mowing the lawn and working in the gardens. Would be a bit uncomfortable for femme people traveling alone, but a good set up for people looking for conversation or company. ”

“At check-in the 50% deposit paid through Expedia was not recognised and we had to prove payment to avoid a double charge. This is not a hotel. There is no full-time reception or usual hotel amenities. Neither is it a B&B, as there is no breakfast at the property. A voucher for $7 was provided for a cafe needing a 2 mile round trip; the amount just about covered a muffin and a small coffee. It feels more like managed rooms. The room and communal areas are pleasantly decorated, clean and the bed……
