“Good to have parking. A good perk is free parking. The basement level has a beautiful library and conference room that looks like the hull of a ship. The restaurant in the hotel is good but pricey. The Nathaniel Hawthorne clam chowder is a small bowl and expensive....Walking distance to many things. Rooms are small and the bed fills up most of the room. No view to speak off. But it is a heritage hotel and the connection to Hawthorne was why I stayed. The staff were pleasant and helpful.”

“Breakfast was by reservation. You picked a time and picked from a list of options. Very easy to use online. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We did have a small issue with parking as there are several homes with parking in the rear. We went to the main house and the staff was able to direct us to where we needed to be. Within walking distance of many things Salem had to offer. Very happy with this property highly recommend.”

“The whole floor was clean and organized. The whole floor also felt inviting and comforting. We enjoyed how close we where to everthing. We were both so happy with found this apartment. ”

“Not really a fan of the whole digital thing....but the property is cute. Expedia indicated the room had a fridge, but apparently you have to rent them in advance ($50+). Luckily, they were able to have one brought in... complimentary, since it was for my meds.”

“The room was great- exactly as described. The gentleman owner was kind - lived on the premises and spent a lot of our stay mowing the lawn and working in the gardens. Would be a bit uncomfortable for femme people traveling alone, but a good set up for people looking for conversation or company. ”

“At check-in the 50% deposit paid through Expedia was not recognised and we had to prove payment to avoid a double charge. This is not a hotel. There is no full-time reception or usual hotel amenities. Neither is it a B&B, as there is no breakfast at the property. A voucher for $7 was provided for a cafe needing a 2 mile round trip; the amount just about covered a muffin and a small coffee. It feels more like managed rooms. The room and communal areas are pleasantly decorated, clean and the bed……

“Very nice experience. All the staff was on point, specially the Dominican lady in the breakfast area. Didn’t feel overcharged for the breakfast either. I would only complain about how clear the noise from the parking lot outside felt in my room .”
