Outdated, but good for a few nights

As others have commented and is apparent from the pictures, everything is rather old and some refurbishing would help a lot. Yet, everything in my room was clean and I did not see any signs of bedbugs (I checked quite neurotically!). The room was very small. The location was excellent but there is a bit of noise from the streets. All in all a good option for a few nights with this price if you do not intend to spend a lot of time in your room!

Pleasant stay in Porto

Cozy and comfortable structure, located in a strategic area in front of the Rectorate of the University of Porto, the Pensão França was really a very pleasant surprise. The friendly and helpful staff, a very high level of cleanliness, the comfort of the beds and the functionality of the bathroom made our stay truly unforgettable. The WI-FI signal is also excellent. A wide selection of restaurants in the area. Really recommendable

What was good: Very central, everything worked well, nice view on the square, clean. What was bad: very loud outside, old furnishing and rooms. All in all a good place to stay if you can sleep in a noisy environment.

Excellent value, great location.

Great value choice. Room was bigger that expected with a full size wardrobe and small desk/stool. We had a private bathroom which included a bidet and shower. Plenty of hot water & good pressure. No hairdryer in the room but we were supplied one on request. Marina at the desk was perfectly pleasant. Amazing location, slightly noisy as we were facing the street but we always bring earplugs anyway!

The place is older, somewhat tired, and the shower is shared amongst the guests (which is an issue for some). Good location and price. Wifi was good. Must walk up a flight of stairs to get to the hotel.
