Tourist spots:
Brâncoveanu Palace from Potlogi – an idea for a one-day getaway from Bucharest, located just 4 km from our property.
In 1698, Constantin Brâncoveanu, lord of Wallachia, built from the foundations a princely court in Potlogi, in the center of which is the palace, next to the "Saint Dimitrie" church. It is fully ornated, with Persian-influenced floral decorations and covered terraces, opening outwards to the garden and lake through a series of arches supported on stone columns.
Also, the great painter ,Nicolae Grigorescu, was born in the village of Pitaru. Thus, just 500m from our property, the "Nicolae Grigorescu Memorial House" was inaugurated.
The construction reproduces the peasant houses from the paintings of the great artist and was built on the place where the painter lived his first years of childhood.
The old church in the village of Pitaru, also called "Strâmbeanu Church", is 400 m from our property and dates back to 1672, being declared a historical monument. The interior paintings are the original ones and an old icon is preserved, considered to be painted by Nicolae Grigorescu, brought by one of his brothers-in-law, some time after the painter's death.
