Great place to stay as it is close to the universities and the Presidential Library & Vanderbilt Mansion. Still off from the main center of town so you get nice & quiet stay.

The room was very affordable. I enjoyed that the window opened as I love fresh air. The breakfast was not very good- low quality bagels and yogurts and a waffle machine. The coffee in the machine was good. There was a very strong smell of marijuana in the lobby/ breakfast area when I was eating yesterday.

The place is old, but was refurbished in years past. The closet door mirror was broken. Black ants in the bathroom. On the positive side, it was one minute away from FDR's house and library, and a little bit away from a new shopping center with a supermarket. The guy who checked us in was friendly. Breakfast was waffles and oatmeal; some fruit was out to grab. Hyde Park is not what we expected. The town looks tired. It needs updating in many areas, but at least there is new commerce coming in here and there.

I did not come in with high expectations based on the cost. The room was in moderately good condition and generally clean. Overall, the property could use a good scrubbing. In my limited interactions with the staff, they seemed friendly. My one recommendation would be to stop burning incense all day long. I found the smell very off-putting.
