Okay not expensive but still below standards. The carpet was needing changes, the sink basin didn't drain, the lock on the door took a lot of fiddling to get open, the mattress was really thin, more like a mattress topper. Only one thin pillow. Breakfast was okay.

Perfect over night stay, staff were friendly and helpful, clean shower good Handy for the motorway. Only negative the sogn as you come off theitorway is obscured woth treesso it took is a coiple of times to find turn off

Is this an Ibis or a Holiday Inn Express? It has clearly changed franchises but my room was clearly a HIExpress style and the reception looked cheap and tacky with a reception desk made of old bookcases and covered with fake brick style paper to make it look better. This hotel is clearly work in progress and has a bit of an identify crisis. That said the welcome was warm, bed comfy and room was very clean. There was however an offputting smell as you walked down the corridor to the room.
