Inexpensive hostel stay for two nights ~$145. It’s located within short ~5min waking distance to some of the buildings of Brown university. It’s next to Ben and Jerry’s ice cream store on the upper level. The entrance is somewhat obscured and easily missed and there is no posted sign; you really had to follow the email instructions word by word, otherwise, you won’t be able to find it or get in. And I had seen it happened. It’s very very important to call (401) 863-2378 ) for check in instructions 1-2 days before arrival by providing your personal information and uploading your ID.
It’s centrally located on a busy Main Street with lots of dinning options. It’s about ~20min Uber drive from the Rhode Island airport.
For the price you pay, the quality of the place is acceptable with the bare minimum: clean bedrooms, shared restrooms, and kitchen; except that you need showering shampoos and bath soup. One bath towel is provided. There is even a sitting area with skylights.
We visited at the end of August with superb weather so it would be interesting to see whether the AC unit functionality during hot or cold months.
If you are sensitive to loud street noise, do not stay here as some of street facing rooms have poor sound proof and the hole on the window barrier did not help with the situation: loud crowds, car honking, blasting music last well past midnight on the weekends.
