Puerto Jiménez stay
Puerto Jiménez is a nice clean little Pueblo. There is a cute cafe called Monka up the street that we would recommend. Several seafood restaurants and we ate at Delfines which was excellent- so fresh! The hotel is situated in a nice secluded area right on the the waterfront. We saw several kayaks and people swimming in the bay. The ambiance was nice with the boats, the waves, and the sunset & sunrise. The AC in the room was excellent and made the heat tolerable. Be prepared for the heat! Our feedback has more to do with the pricing. It was a little bit more pricey and the hotel charged a 7% fee for cc use I totally understand the fee however if it was posted in the posting u did not see it. Also, the price for the room was higher than others in the area and while a nicer place, could be lower.

Thank you for your kind review. As far as the charge for the credit card, it is 6 % that goes to the Banco Nacional for the credit card machine use... Cash is always best. Yes, maybe the price might be a bit higher than other Hotels,... But Cabinas Jimenez is a Waterfront Hotel that includes the Free use of Kayks, the bikes, besides having a pool, A.C., hot water, refrigerator's in every room, Coffee makers, fast WiFi....... John

Stay at Cabinas Jimenez
We arrived at Cabinas Jimenez early and our room was not ready. The owner, John, happened to be at the front desk. Instead of making us wait, he upgraded our room, which was clean and ready to go. Gabby, who worked the front desk, was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and personable. Perfect place to de-stress and de-compress.

Overall our stay was great. The owner John and his team are very nice people and seem to genuinely care about their guests. They were very responsive to our emails and calls prior to our arrival. The property is right on the water and the free kayaks were a great bonus. We had an outdoor kitchen area that was very convenient and helpful. You are a short walk from the bus stop, grocery stores, restaurants and the main city center, where our tour to Corcovado National Park started. The air conditioning in the room was much appreciated. This place is a good value for your money.

Die Anlage hat ein riesiges Potential, das leider nicht ausgeschöpft ist. Alles ist veraltet und teilweise mit viel Improvisation repariert. Das geht beim Duschkopf los. Wettgemacht wird das durch das Personal und die einzigartige Lage. Wer bereit ist, Kompromisse zu machen, ist hier genau richtig, denn keine andere Unterkunft in Puerto Jiménez bietet diese Lage und von vielen Zimmern diesen Blick.

amazing staff- check in with Annie was incredible. so friendly and informative. we were able to leave our luggage there as well as our car for 3 days when we went to the corcavado. everything safe and secure. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Expedia messed up my reservation - they change it from 4 people to 2 people and the description of the room was incorrect. (This is not the first time Expedia has messed up my reservation for a hotel room in Costa Rica). John and Annie did a wonderful job correcting Expedia's mistake and making sure we had comparable accomodations. I would defenitely stay here again....I would just book directly with Cabinas Jimenez next time.

Our room had a beautiful view of the gulf. It had an outdoor kitchen that we enjoyed immensely. The air-conditioning and hot water worked well. We enjoyed the pool during the hot part of the day. And we took advantage of the free kayaks and bicycles at the hotel. John, the owner is a gracious host and his staff are very friendly and helpful. John took us out on a dolphin watching tour that included snorkelling a coral reef. It was absolutely a perfect day! I would highly recommend the stay at cabanas Jimenez.

The front desk staff is so well organized and helpful! The location is perfect, the dolphin boat tour off the dock is a must-do, and everything you'd want to see (shopping, restaurants, beaches) is within walking or biking distance.

We enjoyed our stay at Cabinas Jiménez. The room we booked is no longer available, so the owner kindly resettled us into a different room with the panoramic view of the Golfo Dulce that we were looking forward to. In addition to enjoying the beautiful view, we used the supplied kayaks to explore the mangroves and a deserted beach several times. We also used the supplied bicycles to explore the town of Puerto Jiménez and surrounding area. Cabinas Jiménez is in a great location, with a lovely beach and many restaurants and sodas within walking distance. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a well-stocked mini-kitchen area. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We recommend staying at Cabinas Jiménez for your stay in Puerto Jiménez.

Schöne, einfache Unterkunft
Schöne, einfache aber zweckmässige Zimmer. Kühlschrank, Klimaanlage, Mikrowelle und Filterkaffemaschine auf dem Zimmer. Dazu die Möglichkeit einer Gemeinschaftsküche mit Gasgrill. Freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Sicher ein Tipp für 3-4 Übernachtungen. Uns hat es gefallen und wir kommen wieder!

This property is in a great location near the beach but close enough to walk into town. Staff were extremely helpful and as a single woman traveller I felt very comfortable and safe at all times. Pool was small but lovely. An excellent accommodation all around.

We only spent 1 night here but I wish we stayed 2. This hotel is right on the water, you can walk to the main street and to the restaurant on the bay. Great value for the price especially in this area.

Excellent place to stage for Corcovado
I stayed at Cabinas Jimenez for a couple days to get ready for a multi-day trip to Corcovado. It was perfect. It was a bit of a walk from the airport but manageable and would have been an easy and cheap taxi ride if I had chosen that. It is close to restaurants, grocery, etc. The bed was very comfortable (not a given in CR) and the air conditioning worked great. Most of the time I didn't even need it, given the breeze from the Golfo Dulce. I had a room with the full outside kitchen which would have been great if I was staying longer. The private veranda was very spacious and comfortable. I left my bags with them while I was in the park and they made this very easy, even though I left at 5 AM. Very nice to have free bikes and kayaks available. The only downsides were that the "suicide shower" heater and wireless router were not working. I have used these showers many times and even with the flow turned down very low there was no difference in temperature between on and off. Honestly it does not matter that much in coastal CR. A slightly cold shower is fine. The internet was available in the lobby, so also not a big problem. I will definitely stay there again.

The property is beautiful, especially if you have a view of the ocean. It's absolutely gorgeous. The water is cool/cold, there is no hot water at this location, no matter which room you stay in. I did have an altercation with the owner since he stayed at the hotel property. We didn't have very many towels in our room for the number of people in the space, and there was no one at the front desk when I went out. Normally, in most places, there is someone at the desk all the time. Someone directed me to knock on the owner's door to ask for towels, and it was about 10:00 p.m. that evening. They have a small note on the desk to call his number, but since there was no one at the front, I missed it, as this was my first time being a guest at the hotel. The owner was very upset and didn't treat me very well at that moment. Unfortunately, since he stays in the residence, there are many people who knock on his door because there is no sign on the door. So as a first-time guest, naturally you'd think that the owner would be hospitable to accommodate his guests. Or at the very least, make it very clear to not knock on his door at a certain period of time, especially if he's living at his own hotel. I was very upset at his poor treatment and frustration with his guests, and I almost canceled my reservation the next day due to his behavior towards me as a guest, and that being my experience. He explained he was going through a tough time, and we resolved the issue. CALL FIRST, FYI.

Muy recomendado con pequeñas cosas para mejorar
Me gustó y volvería, además de muy barato. Limpieza de la cabina diaria, muy buena. Pero en la noche, al baño, ingresaban cucarachitas, pienso que por los ductos de las salidas de agua, esto sería el único aspecto de mejora. No hay parqueo, no obstante frente a las Cabinas hay buen espacio en la vía publica para estacionar, el lugar parece muy seguro ya que los Host te dicen que puedes parquear en la calle sin ningún problema. En la información indican que full cocina pero tuve que pedir la olla arrocera ya que no había, me la facilitaron. Servicio de toalla o paños limpios todos los días, esto me pareció excelente. Camas muy cómodas. Además descansamos muy bien ya que no había ruido de personas, aunque había muchos huéspedes, lo que facilitó mucho el descanso para continuar al día siguiente visitando la inmensidad y belleza del Golfo Dulce. Lo disfrutamos montones. Hicimos un tour que tomamos en Golfito, se puede abordar también en Puerto Jiménez, vimos centenares de Delfines, aun no lo supero demasiado lindo. La pasamos muy bien!!!! super recomendado.

Chambres sombres à la décoration datée mais disposant du confort nécessaire (clim, eau chaude, frigo, machine à café avec café à disposition). Piscine fraîche mais trop petite. Travaux de rénovation en cours. Kayaks et vélos à disposition gratuitement ce qui est un vrai plus .

Very relaxing place...
The only waterfront Cabinas or Hotel in Puerto Jimenez. Short walk to restaurants and groceries. Nice outdoor space with kitchenette right of our room. Very comfortable pillow top mattress bed. Free bicycles and kayaks to use. Friendly staff and locals, very relaxing atmosphere. We live in Costa Rica and this is where we go to even more relax.
