We loved our stay at Rivera del Rio. Our room was great (Zelda). We loved sitting on the balcony enjoying the sound of the river and watching people go by. We also loved the rooftop pool and bar. Ruben is the best! And Victor was an amazing host and helped us book another stay while we were there.

This special place is in an ideal location. Walking distance to everything in the central and romantic zones and far enough from the busy area for a quiet retreat. The rooms have views of the jungle and along the walk along the river just across the street you can find parrots, iguanas and occasionally a crocodile. Staff are friendly and responsive and rooms are spacious and quiet. We had a wonderful time here and with all we did in beautiful Puerto Vallarta.

WARNING The hotel is located in a quiet side street, trees and birds and a dry river in front. Interior design is special and quaint; good rooms, good brkfst. Javier, in charge of service, is welcoming and very helpful. Why the warning? Bcs u might get stranded in the shower without water. Why go into detail? Bcs it demonstrates attitude. Why is it imprtnt? Bcs my impression is the prblm is permanent. At my first shower (23:00): pressure started weak; then water stopped all together; after 2 minutes, almost drying myself with soap on, burst of strong pressure; then trickle again. In the morning I talked with the manager; she wasn't surprised, which says a lot. She said they will try to fix it. When I asked in the afternoon, she said prblm was fixed but cannot gurantee it won't return (duh?). I took her offer to relocate to a room on the other side of the hotel. Javier came to help me move. Before leaving the room we tried the shower; same trickle. He agreed with me the prblm wasn't fixed, and said other rooms on that side had the same prblm. During the whole process no one apologized or said "I m sorry". Upon checkout, the manager told me not to pay 12 usd for one of my brkfsts. When I asked why, she said "bcs of water prblm". Even then she couldn't utter the word "sorry". Recommendation: Check ahead. PS In both rooms, despite dfrnt glass doors, shower water creats a pool over a quarter of bathroom floor.

This is hands down the best place to stay in PV! So close to everything yet just on the fringe of the romantic district. Such a unique property with amazing rooms that are all different.

The staff, particularly Javier, Reuben and Ivan were all so friendly and passionate about making the hotel inviting and fun. I love the housecats (Francesca and Elizabeth), the decor, the comfortable bed, the balcony, the infinity pool on the roof! Some of the best cocktails I had in PV were made by Reuben at the pool bar. The breakfast was included with the deluxe room and it was delicious! The hotel is located right by the river so you get an incredible view, nice breeze and a front row seat to wildlife (birds, iguanas, geckos, so many dogs and cats). It's also close to everything - restaurants, shopping, chocolatiers, lavandarias, and it's a 15 min walk to the beach. When I come back again to PV I won't stay anywhere else.

Unique, charming hotel. We had a large comfy room with a balcony, by the river so relatively quiet but within walking distance of The Malecon and the beach. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the bartender at pool bar made a good Margherita. Will be back.

We absolutely loved this hotel. Originally, we had booked for one night but ended up loving it so much we stayed for 3 nights! The property and location is so unique and charming. Around every corner is something new to discover. We can’t wait to come back!

Ugh I had such great hopes for this hotel. First things first, if you are a light sleeper, do not book this hotel. First let's go with the pros •Close to everything • Staff was amazing • Great Pool and Hot Tub • Kitties! 😻 • Each room is beautiful • Bed was extremely comfortable Onto the cons :( • LOUD. In every sense of the word. The doors slam constantly until 3am by visitors. We visited over Christmas Eve and loud music was played next door until 2:30am. There was also fireworks being set off untill 3am. • This boutique hotel is located on a road where people drive by an blast music. • The breakfast was horrible. They cook everything in the microwave. Not worth the $12 at all. •We stayed in the Korvette suite. It is right next to the "kitchen" area. Every morning by 7:15 you can hear them start preparing. This would have been a great stay if everything hadn't been so loud. At least worn people this is not a quiet and peaceful hotel. The place is aesthetically pleasing but not peaceful in the slightest.

Quirky place with a vibe. Mostly very clean. Odd musty smeall in room (Kyro). Staff responded to our needs. Once the room wasn't cleaned when we had wanted it done. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay. Lovely location.
