Beili Stable, a spacious country barn near Monmouth with spectacular views

"This was an absolutely spendid property for a nine-day stay by my husband and I. Everything was as described and the setting was truly idyllic. We ventured out in multiple directions and were able to enjoy much of what this geographic area has to offer. The kitchen is well-equipped, the beds are comfortable, and there's a nice private patio right outside the door. The view pictured is directly out the window of the living room. Dave was a welcoming and gracious host and made us feel right at home."

"Loved everything - far away from any roads. Beautiful views from big window seat in bedroom and from hot tub. Eggs and bacon provided!! Would recommend as good site from which to visit Monmouth, Abergavenny, Ross on Wye. Thank you."
The Old Schoolhouse at Penrhos

"I stayed at The Old Schoolhouse with my three kids (8, 6 and 3) for a few very hot days in August. The swimming pool was absolute heaven and we enjoyed blackberry picking every evening along the quiet lane. The location is beautiful, a 10 minute drive down a single track road, it feels very remote and truly peaceful. My kids loved visiting Raglan Park Farm which is about 15 minutes away by car. The house itself was beautifully decorated and spotless. It was really well set up for kids with a fab cinema room, air hockey, loads of kids’ books, games and plenty of plastic crockery and cutlery. A couple of small improvements which would make it even better - some sun loungers for around the pool (there are chairs, but nothing you can recline, so if you want to lie in the sun, you have to lie on a towel on the floor). We weren’t provided with olive oil which was a bit of a pain as I had assumed there would be some to cook with, and the salt grinder has run out of salt. Other than those minor issues, I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay here, and hope to return one day! - Sun loungers - olive oil - checking salt and pepper grinders full"

"We loved the space the accommodation provided for our family. Everyone loved the hot tub, the natural swimming pool and the table tennis table was a bonus. It was a great location for exploring the area and perfect for our dog. The fridge freezer wasn’t big enough for a property of this size which made food and drink storage difficult over a particularly hot weekend. The outside area could do with some maintenance such as removing old broken garden table and clearing weeds. The lower floor could do with a bit of tlc to get it up to the standard of the rest of the house."

"A really lovely place. Quiet and peaceful. Friendly and knowledgeable host, and it all went really smoothly. The cottage had excellent facilities, was in a lovely location, plenty of parking, walks on the doorstep and the garden was secure for our dog which is extremely important. Next time we need some peace and quiet and a few good nights' sleep we will be back."

"The venue is currently set up for youth residential events so it doesn't have hotel facilities. Our room was modern and clean with comfortable beds and a good bathroom, but it would have benefited from a few extra amenities. Still, the staff were friendly and welcoming, we absolutely loved the estate and we look forward to visiting again soon. It's a great place for families who enjoy outdoor activities. I enjoyed a delicious Indian breakfast which made a nice change, and my daughter enjoyed her preferred breakfast food with no fuss."
