Small but comfortable rooms. Had a free upgrade to doubles from the singles that we booked which was lovely. Nice and central to amenities in the town. Close to the railway so there is some train noise.

The staff and manager were very helpful, I did have a few points on the room though, we left the window open even when sleeping (with ear plugs) due to it being too warm even with moderate late August temperatures. We also had a lack of plug sockets with some sockets that looked like very old sockets they were not allowed to remove as you couldn't plug a UK plug into them. Need to add USB A/C ports as almost everyone needs them these days.

We were given a top floor room for which I realised I struggled to walk up in addition to the hotel is like a maze and confusing to find and get back to. It was one of a very hot day and the window is quite limited to open to let the cool air comes in. A fan is available. The shower as well is a bit of a tricky manoeuvre to operate. Breakfast is basic including the juice. Coffee is fine.

Lovely pub in a lovely area. On site parking. Room was incredibly hot as the windows were shut before we arrived (heat wave) there was a plug in fan which we used but the windows had wires on to restrict their opening so the room never cooled down. Bathroom needs updating, loose plastic sealing around the bath. We tried putting ice and some water in the bathroom sink to cool bottles of water but the sink plug didn’t seal properly. Beds ok and extra pillows provided which was great. Location good. It is close to a train line, this didn’t bother us however it may some people. The door latch didn’t catch properly on the bedroom / landing door. Despite this, we would stay again!
