Portreath peaceful retreat

Lovely old property with modern apartment amenities. Great location for beach, walks on South West Coastal Path and Tehidy Woods. The pool and hot tub are great additions for when you just want to take it easy and stay around the property. Beautiful gardens too to just sit and relax in. Good pubs and restaurants all within walking distance. Pam and Richard are friendliness personified and always on hand for assistance. We enjoy staying here - always leaves us feeling relaxed.

“What an Oasis - You MUST try this!!!!”

We stayed at Bassets Acre the first week of June 2013. Both badly needing a refreshing unwind from hectic jobs. We left (unfortunately) feeling so invigorated after one of the best holidays we have ever had. A big thank you to Pam and Richard who really are the best hosts. Nothing is too much trouble and they are extremely good company. We stayed in the Sea Whisper apartment which was really comfortable, quiet and had everything you would need on a holiday. We swam in the pool each day and although the weather was glorious all week the blue bubble dome over the pool area means you can use the pool and sun loungers even in the rain. The hot tub in the Summer House is a fantastic addition, but the stunning elevated deck area with BBQ's and great seating area enable a view directly out into the bay. This produced (over a glass of Claret or two) some of the finest sunsets we have ever seen. If you want a relaxing holiday in a beautiful small bay which does not attract large crowds, in a lovely period building, with fantastic facilities, hosted by two lovely people, this is the place for you. Need I say any more other than we will return.
