Bovis Cottage is a pretty Grade II listed cottage and was originally a much bigger property and part of a farm. After being split up, it retains some of the original features such as the spiral staircase. It is located at the end of the high street, a very peaceful spot away from the hustle and bustle of the town, yet only a short walk to the beach, iconic pier and the beach hut lined promenade. It is the perfect location for a family holiday or a romantic getaway.
Bovis Cottage is set back from the road with a large front garden laid to lawn, a great spot to soak up the sun. Walk up the garden path to the front door which leads into the spacious hallway. On the left is the light and airy open plan living room and dining area, with large sash windows looking out to the garden. There is a two-seater sofa, two armchairs and a table and chairs to comfortably seat four.
This leads into the well equipped kitchen with a four ring hob, oven, fridge (with an icebox), microwave, kettle and toaster. There is also a washing machine along the hall in the utility room. At the end of the house is the family bathroom with a bath with a shower over, WC, hand basin and towel rail.
Spiral staircase leads to the first-floor master bedroom. There is a double bed, built in wardrobes, two bedside tables and a spacious dressing area with more wardrobe space and a chest of drawers. Windows looking out to Barnaby Green make this a bright and airy room. Up another spiral staircase is the second bedroom in the eaves. There are two single beds and plenty of storage on the landing, a great cosy space for the kids.
Outside, at the end of the house, there is a garden room, a perfect place to sit and enjoy the garden and watch the wildlife and stay dry ! There is a good size garden at the front, mainly laid to lawn, the perfect place to sit and watch the world go by. The rear garden is also a generous size and mainly laid to lawn with some shrubs and bushes. There is a table and chairs and also a bench should you wish to dine al fresco, or simply sit and enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple in the sunshine.
The rear garden can be accessed via a right of way through two other gardens from Spinner's Lane but there is no right of way past Bovis Cottage. Spinner's Lane has direct access out onto the common and down to the harbour.
