There is no front desk person, so when i couldnt get in my room, there was no one to help me. I had to call, but Expedia gave me the wrong phone number. The room was lovely, but there is construction going on in the hotel and all around it. Noisy. I didnt have curtains, so the midnight sun kept me up. The hotel furnished me with another room, so that was nice. Once constructiin is done, this will be a great little hotel.

I stayed for a week and the hotel never cleaned my room or changed my towels. So I asked the hotel to clean and change the towels, but they didn't clean and change the towels until I left. So I had to stay in the same towel and messy room for a week.

There was no checkin instruction through email prior to our checkin. We had to call in front of the door to get an email sent to us with code to get in the building and to our room. The hotel amenities shown online include free parking. However the free parking are really just three spots on street which are not provided by the hotel so everyone can park there and are always full. The free parking on the website is misleading.

No staff for check in on so if there's a problem you have no recourse. And we had a problem. Even though we made a reservation for a room for two people, a married couple, we were assigned a three twin bed bunk room, with no television, No drinking glasses, No facial tissues, very little room to walk around, curtains that did not fully cover the windows, debris left from the previous occupant on the bathroom floor... All in all not what we booked and not at all satisfactory. When we called the number for the hotel which we had to track down, they told us they were full and would not give us priority even though we had booked the room many weeks in advance. They told us to take it up with Expedia. Do yourself a favor and stay someplace else. Also the front door to the hotel was out of service and open so cold air was blowing in constantly and there was no security.

This is a staff s hotel, self-check-In and no one to talk with if something is not correct. We had many problems and when we called the number at the hotel they told us to take it up with Expedia. They gave us the wrong room- not the room we booked, very crowded, not suitable for a married couple, More like a bunk room with three single beds, no TV, debris from former occupant in bathroom, no water glasses, no facial tissues, curtains that did not fully cover the windows.. and many more problems.

There was no on-site staff. The code I received was incorrect so we were standing out in the cold at 1:30am until we were able to connect to someone using the outdoor panel. There were only hand towels in the bathroom and there was no way to get regular sized towels. We went on a tour and when we returned I never got a code. We waited for someone to open the door and contacted staff by phone. The breakfast was free and pretty good.

Upon arriving at the 22 Hill Hotel, Reykjavik Iceland, I called the hotel. There was no Front Desk or Hotel receptionist. The hotel told me that they had no room reservation although I had a hotel confirmation from Expedia. I called Expedia to have them check on this reservation. After an hour on the phone, Expedia informed me that there was no reservation. Expedia was able to get us a room 1 1/2 blocks from 22 Hill Hotel at The EYJA Hotel. After traveling thousands of miles that the room you reserved thru Expedia is not available is not acceptable.

Very affordable and easy to check in despite not having a front desk. Very nice part of town close to city center and great restaurants. We had booked a room with a full bed and it was two small beds pushed together. Still very comfortable, though! The furniture in the room was pretty banged up and was all very mismatched and looked second hand. The view out the window was into a construction pit between buildings. We spent no extra time in the hotel other than to sleep so none of this really bothered us but it was interesting to walk into. Will definitely recommend this for budget travelers.

The email with the dates, room number, and code was wrong. There were no bath towels in the room and we couldn’t get them. We found wash cloths im the water closet by the lounge.

Self-check in property - no front desk staff. No free parking available, had to walk several blocks over. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Shower was ridiculously small. The property is in Avery good location a short walk from the seafront & Reykjavik center. It was very quiet. The advertised coffee machine in the reception area was out of order and seemed to have been got a while. There was no other facility for a warm drink.

Decent location, but extensive construction ongoing across the street. There was confusion because property mgmt changed during our stay, and basic policies such as late check out/luggage storage were suddenly unclear. A clean, basic-needs boutique hotel, breakfast included.

Great place for the first timer to the iceland. Staff very helpful, provided local information necessary for the trips. Breakfast was hearty and free flow coffee and hot water helped us to warm up for aurora hunting. Though the premise is aged but well maintained and clean.

Good value with a warm welcome
About ½ hour walk from the BSÍ bus terminal (we got the bus from the airport) it is fairly well situated for most things, but not in the centre of town. Despite recent construction directly opposite it had a view of the sea and was very quiet at night. Anh was very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgable and helped us with a couple of tour ideas and bookings. The room was basic but clean and the bed was very comfortable. No tea and coffee in the room, but it is available at reception 24 hours a day. Bathroom small but adequate and clean. Continental style breakfast was included and a had a decent variety to choose from. There is also an excellent restaurant in the hotel (but run separately) where we had a fantastic last night meal (with a discount of 10% for those staying in the hotel).

Fab location close to city centre and the often used bus pickup point 12 opposite Storm Hotel. Current building works opposite did not affect our stay. Really good buffet breakfast with excellent local bread, cereals, fruit, skyr, ham, cheese, pate, tomatoes, cucumber, peppers etc. Only a small communal area but there is a free tea/coffee machine available. Our room was a good size for 3, so space was not a problem. Excellent desk staff from 8am to 8pm who could not have been more helpful.

This is a great location with grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, etc. within walking distance. The staff is super friendly and are more than happy to help with anything and provide travel tips as well. The included breakfast spread is pretty good too. Highly recommended.

This was a perfect spot for us. Great breakfast, good staff interactions.. only downside(considering ) , I am not blaming the hotel for lack of parking and we’re forever grateful that we always found a place to park.. Reykavik and Iceland are undergoing major growing pains and we were happy to have been blessed with a great time

Nice place but make sure bags aren't locked up
Overall nice place and location. Free parking is a little misleading because it is still street parking and limited. We did have an issue at check in that was weird and extremely inconvenient. We arrived early and knew our room wouldn't be ready, so we brought in a couple bags (just those with valuables in them) for luggage hold and got our room code. We arrived back around 8:15-8:30, shortly after front desk hours closed and went to our room. Our bags weren't in our room, so we went back to the front desk to see if they were tucked away. Then we called the after hours line to learn they were locked up for the night and nobody was willing to come get them for us. My husband had to sleep in his day clothes, we couldn't charge our phones and it was a significant inconvenience since we had to pack up for our flight the next day and we couldn't get our bags until 8 am. If the front desk had to close, why wouldn't they just bring our bags to our room OR make sure we knew we needed to be back by 8 to claim them? Never heard of a hotel that wouldn't just bring bags to a room, even if there was a small fee.
