This is a great place to just sleep and go (which is what we did) They have a shared FULL kitchen which is awesome to cook your own food to save some money from the food prices in Iceland. My only problems with this stay: no staff. at all. so if you wanted extra towels- tuff. my blanket was clearly stained from previous guests but you could tell it was cleaned- but it was really off putting to see that and couldn't really do anything about it either.

Comfortable room, nice showers - lockbox unclear
Great stay, though clearly out of town. The only challenge we had was understanding that the code was for a lockbox, which had the key for the room. We were unfamiliar with this kind of lock box, so entered the code - fiddled with the lever, etc. with no luck. Another guest had figured out how to get the lockbox open - revealing the key. I would make this part clearer, and it's even more of a winner.

Like a number of guesthouses in Iceland, this is a former educational boarding facility. It is in the middle of nowhere, but the view is amazing, it is clean, the other occupants were pleasant and there were plenty of bathrooms and showers. Food is close by in Mossfellsbaer and the kitchen facilities were good. Lots of parking.

Quirky but good value & peaceful setting.
Heads up - this is a converted retirement home and it’s kind of obvious based on the layout and how wiring is done & emergency call buttons on the wall. It’s at the end of an Industrial road - the last km to the hotel is a little rough but I had no problem taking it easy with a Yaris. Even though you pass through an Industrial area to get there - the area where the hotel is located is quite beautiful and peaceful and I enjoyed this compared to staying in Reykjavik. The kitchen is a good size and is well stocked with tea, coffee and some basics. It’s In it’s own room behind a door so you can use it during off hours without disturbing other guests. (Unfortunately someone cooked fish or some strong cheese in it - so it could have smelled fresher but there is a door you can open for ventilation) My email with check in instructions didn’t make it to my hotmail account but after emailing I didn’t receive it - they called me with the details. It’s easy to hear noise from the hall - so bring earbuds if you’re sensitive to this. Overall I’d recommend unless you’re freaked out by hospitals/medical facilities. If you are - this is not the place for you.

Great location but where you need to park is less than 5 minutes walk. WC at end of hall. The pick up for card to access building and room is in the restaurant next door. The food there was excellent and great bar just a minute away. And the price was very good for last minute accommodation.

Solide Unterkunft im Norden von Rekjavik mit geteilter Küche und Badezimmern. Negativ sind die lauten Pinschlösser an jeder Tür von denen man Nachts gut aufwachen kann durch ihr lautes piepsen. Sonst war alles gut

There is only one cloth towel in the toilet for all guests. Not very hygienic. The PIN code and room number could only be obtained by separate request when calling on the phone

The room did not live up to expectations
There were no disposable towels in the toilet. Too few hgengars and coat racks in the room. The PIN code and room number had to be asked separately by calling. The room was supposed to have a sea view, but there was none.

아름다운 감옥
이곳은 레이카비크에 있는 숙소가 아닙니다 이곳엔 버스도 택시도 아무것도 오지 않아요 반드시 렌트카를 갖고 가야 합니다 레이카비카에서 뭔가를 하려면 1시간을 차를 타고 나가야 합니다 렌트카가 없으면 예쁜 감옥입니다 걸어서는 나갈 수가 없어요 고속도로가 막혀 있어요 콜택시를 불러도 오지 않아요 너무 외진곳이고 공사 트럭만 지나다닙니다 아무것도 없어요 일하는 사람들도 낮에 장깐 왔다가고 너무 무서웠어요 체크아웃하겠다고 콜택시를 불러 달라고 했는데 그냥 가버렸어요 나는 짐을 들고 나왔어요 혼자서 감옥에서 탈출하려고요 지나가는 차를 겨우 한대 만나서 사정사정해서 고속도로를 빠져 나왔어요 너무 위험한 곳에 위치해 있어요차없이 갔다가 고속도로에서 죽을 수도 있다는 생각도 했어요 80일간 여행중이었는데 가장 공포스러운 숙소였어요 5박예약했는데 2박 자고 도망나왔어요 너무 무서웠어요 만약 길에서 만난 차가 없었다면 고속도로에서 어찌 되었을지 지금도 끔찍합니다 분명히 알려 줘야 합니다 렌트카 없는 여행객은 예약하지 말라고 여기는 레이카비크가 아니라 레이카 비크에서 28km떨어져 있고 레이카비크에서 택시를 타면 택시비는 10만원이고 나오려면 나올 수가 없어서 탈출을 시도해야한다고 아무것도 없습니다 오직 이집만 있어요 멀리 공사하는 공사장과 공사 트럭만 가끔 다니고 있어요 최악의 숙소입니다 직원들도 친절하지 않아요 나가겠다고 말했는데도 그냥가버리고 콜택시를 불러달라고 했는데 나보고 불르라고했어요 콜택시가 오지 않는다는 걸 그들은 알고 있었으닌까요 최악의 숙소에서최악의 대우를 받고 왔어요 80여일 동안 나의 여행을 망쳐버린 최압의 숙소입니다 아무것도 없어서 혼자여행하는 나는 너무 무서웠어요 사고가 나거나 내가 죽을 수도 있다는 상상을 했어요 그래도 아무도 모를 수 있다는 무서운 상상을 하게 했어요 이건 사기입니다 이곳이 레이카비크에 있다는 것은 아이슬란드 레이카비크는 대중교통이 이용가능한 여행하기 편리한곳입니다 그런데 이곳에는 아무 것도 오지 않고 숙소 옆에도 공사끝나고 오시는 분들이 자는 숙소입니다 게스트하우스에도 손님이 별로 없어서 너무 무서워요있는 내내 무서웠어요 일하는 사람들도 낮에 장깟 왔다가 사라집니다 이곳에 나만 혼자 남아 있었어요 최악이고 5박 예약해서 두밤자고 감옥탈출을 시도해서 80일동안 갖고 다닌 무거운 짐을 끌고 비포장 도로를 끌고 한참을 나와서 지나가는 차가 한대 있어서 살려달라고 사정사정해서 그차를 타고 겨우 빠져 나왔어요 최악의 숙소였습니다 지금도 생각하면 너무 무서워요

Dårligt værelse - ingen møbler til opbevaring af tøj mv - der var kun senge og natbord. Der er ekstremt lydt - man skal forvente at der er støj det meste af tiden; folk, der ankommer sent eller fra folk, der skal rejse midt om natten

Man gibt sich richtig Mühe; ein ehemaliges Altenheim, neben einer Müllhalde als „guesthouse“ zu vermarkten, aber, dass geht richtig schief … bitte nicht über hotel.com. Ruiniert euren Ruf … lest bitte auch die Google Rezensionen!

Okey but not great
It is an old "old folks" home, and is kindda run down, specially the outside. But its cheap and you get what you pay for. Sound travels easily and therefore other guests can seem noisy. Kitchen is fine and so are the rooms.

좀 아쉬운...그래도 좋았던...
날씨도 좋지않고 비가오고 바람이 많이부는 저녁에 체크인하는데 아무도 없고 손님도 거의 없어 완전 무서웠다. 체크인 메일이 오지 않은 상태에서 호스트와 연락하기 힘들었고 숙소는 병원이었던 곳을 숙소로 변형한거 같다. 그래서 더 무서웠음. 그러나 그거 빼고는 좋아요~ 뷰도 좋고 키친과 도구들 상태를이 깨끗하고 좋고 넓었다. 방이 병실이었다는 느낌과 문들이 쾅쾅 닫히지 않았다면 좋은 숙소였다고 생각한다~
