Ripon Bar Hotel

"Lovely hotel and great walking distance into the city. Excellent staff although one or two gently let the side down. It’s an older style hotel with floorboards that creek. Shower/bath old style but everything worked. Reception staff amazing, bar staff excellent, woman serving breakfast fantastic with men slightly grumpy. "

"Location excellent, a short walk from Train Station and a Short walk into York City Centre. Breakfast excellent and room cleaned daily. The only disappointment was our room was street side and the noise from outside during the night was excessive. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs or book a riverside room. Rooms street side really need a better sound proofing."

"All in all it was a nice stay. Only a couple of reasons for not giving 5 stars - there was rubbish in the bin in our room and some rubbish on the bedside table on our arrival to the room. Also the air conditioning kept coming on and it was very cold and loud and wouldn’t change when adjusting the thermostat. We didn’t spend much time in the hotel so not a big issue for us but could be a problem for some. "

"The hotel is lovely and friendly . The bed was so comfy and loved the bedding and towels. The bathroom was t too good. After a bath and you pulled out the plug there was a ball of hair it was disgusting. The breakfast was yummy. Still a gorgeous place to stay and town just round the corner. "

"The welcome was good. Booked parking and was told which bay was ours for the night. Executive room was huge, needing updating but clean. Bed was super hard pillows thin so didn't sleep too well. Informed the receptionist on check out but she only wished us a safe journey home. No mention of the poor sleep. The executive breakfast was superb, a mixture of continental and cooked. The gentleman looking after us really lovely and efficient, thank you. Can't comment on the bar as we didn't use it, but 2 coach parties were making use of itm "

"The hotel is well located, easily within walking distance of all shops and tourist sites. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room was fine but there was no fridge to keep drinks cool because there is also no air conditioning. Our room was really warm even though we had the window opened day and night. "
