When you plan your next trip to the Oregon Coast, consider amplifying the experience by actually living on the beach! With its quaint charm, beach-y decor, and modern amenities, this Rockaway Beach vacation rental will offer you amazing views of the water, easy access to the sand, and enough distance to have some peace and quiet - but not miss out on local activities.

Only two miles north of Rockaway Beach proper, Sand Castle Villa is one of the many locations that offer some of the best views of the Oregon Coast you'll get while driving - or walking, or biking, or whatever! Rockaway Beach is an exemplary Oregon Coast town, with cute eateries and trinket shops, plus beautiful parks and long stretches of sand for ultimate beach time.

This section of Sand Castle Villa is a three bedroom, three bathroom apartment; the upper floor includes the living space and a bedroom/bathroom combo. Downstairs are the two other bedrooms and bathrooms. The soft white walls catch most of the natural light, creating a sense of airiness; the decor is ocean themed, with soft pink and purple tones that create a quirky, homey feel. Downstairs is a primary bedroom with a king-sized bed and access to an outdoor patio, and a second bedroom with a twin-over-double bunk.

Upstairs, the second primary suite offers plenty of space to spread out, a mounted TV, and a king-sized bed with a private bathroom. The gem of this condo? The wall of full windows looking over the beach. There's also a patio for you to go sit out on - any time of day, with someone or alone, the beach is right there for your admiration.

The dining alcove is perfect for family style meals or an early breakfast alone. Enjoy the cozy sitting area with a couch and a big reading chair done in soft pinks. There's flat screen TV with cable mounted into the wall, and Wi-Fi for your convenience.

Enjoy a fully-stocked kitchen with plenty of counter space - including an eating island with bar stools - white appliances, including a dishwasher, and a double oven for extra cooking space. You even have a food mixer for baking bread, cakes, or cookies on stormy days while your friends and family lounge around you. You can cook and store your vacation's worth of food without any difficulty! There's also a washer/dryer for those mid-vacation loads of laundry. This duplex has a garage and plenty of on-street parking.

The beach is there for your enjoyment, either from your deck or patio, from the weather-beaten benches, or from the road as you drive to your next destination. Poke around tide pools or fly kites; take long sandy runs or find a good spot on a hill for whale watching. Take a little road trip up to the Manhattan Beach State Park, or head to Rockaway Beach for bike and paddle boat rentals. Dogs -welcome for a small nightly fee - will love the great outdoors!

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Family getaway

Nice place. Two bedrooms down stairs each with a door outside. Main living area and third bedroom up stairs. One thing didn't see from other reviews I might have missed it is that there is rock steps down to the beach this made is easy to take the kids down.

Great Spot for Family

This location was perfect, situated directly on the beach. The apartment was spacious and very welcoming, a super cute vibe. Lots of puzzles and board games to hang inside when it was raining and the owner provided extra details around the place to make you feel cared for. Ex. Extra soaps, towels, laundry baskets, a good amount of utensils and spices in the kitchen, and some beach gear. It was very considerate and we will definitely be renting this again!

Heaven On Earth!

It doesn't get any better than this! Right on the beach, beautiful sunsets, and getting to watch the ocean and sunset from a hot tub. Very clean, spacious and perfect for all of us. It was hard to leave here. Would HIGHLY recommend this place. Will def be back!!!

Such a cute house with the best view. Not much to do in Rockaway beach but the house is worth driving the extra miles to Cannon Beach or Seaside for the day. Will stay here again.

We were mesmerized by the view. The decor was bright and cheerful, and the layout of the house was comfortable. We knew it was a pet friendly home, but were admittedly surprised by the amount of hair still left on all the furniture. The house could use a much needed deep clean. We did find the listing slightly misleading with the images of the hot tub, as there was no hot tub. Because of the slightly misleading marketing and the cleanliness of the house I feel it was overpriced with all the additional fees. Over all it was a nice getaway that we used to accomplish a couple big work projects that required deep concentration with no distractions.

Perfect location on the beach

Overall a great stay with perfect view and location. There isn’t a great area for lounging on the couch As the living room is very small. but that’s about it for faults. It’s a we’ll stocked kitchen, great view, easy beach access and dog friendly.

Sandcastle in Rockaway Beach vaca rental

There was no broom, We didnt know it was a townhouse style. We thought we were getting the entire house. The shower door downstairs was broken. Weird crazy rules about animals. The house stunk. The best thing about the house was the view from the dining room. The dryer was very slow. Would not recommend. We were disappointed. Also the vacuum did not suck anything up. Please updated your amenities.

Perfect beach getaway for families

This was a perfect getaway on the coast for our family and grandparents. Great location, loved the view from the dining room and balcony and really appreciated having a bathroom for each bedroom. I would definitely recommend this place.

The only good thing about this house is the view and proximity to the beach. Keep looking!

After a long day of travel we arrived to a filthy house! We arrived at the same time as 2 20 year old guys, who were there to clean, they were done in 45 minutes and when we walked back in the only thing they had done was make the beds and who knows if the sheets were even clean. The floors had food all over them, carpets dirty, couch and dining cushions had stains, the patio screen was ripped and hanging. Windows were dirty and tracks full of mold. The 3 bathrooms had dirty floors and one of the bedroom door frames had a fresh bloody booger 🤢 I immediately called Vacasa and in an hour they sent out 2 different cleaners, who were also disgusted with the conditions and they took pictures and called their supervisor. After 2 hours of cleaning and remaking beds, we needed in, it was almost 7:30 and we had 2 small kids who were hungry and exhausted. The floors were not mopped and we had black feet and had to wash them every night before bed. But at least it was better. We talked to the people on the other side of the town house and they said theirs was filthy as well but they just cleaned it themselves....that is awfu! The pots and pans are terrible especially the frying pans, if you stay here bring your own! The knives are dull and we had 2 glasses, no spoons and 1 garbage bag. The cleaning service did bring us more and we’re very apologetic. I could go on and on 😡 but you get the idea, I won’t even mention what was under the cushions and couch, but they hadn’t been cleaned under in a long time! It rained one day and we looked forward to the fireplace but big surprise, the propane tank was empty. I called and was told it would be filled...it wasn’t. It is sad because this is a beach front town home and it could be beautiful but it is run down and the cleaning company is not doing a good job. I would not recommend this home to anyone. I was only refunded my cleaning fee plus 5% of the rental price. Which I do not think is fair, this home is not as it is listed and was not cheap to rent. We had to stay because the only place they offered to move us to was a run down mobile home on the highway facing the back of a building....really, we rented a beach front home. Vacasa is doing a horrible job managing this home and I am NOT a satisfied customer. Next time I will find a home that is managed by a different company. We would not let it ruin our vacation, but let’s just say it was nice to come home to a CLEAN house!

Not clean, poor response by property mgr

Very disappointing that this beach front unit was not clean when we arrived. The kitchen was not clean, for instance: dirty silverware! The dining room area was disgusting, crumbs and hair literally on every chair and on the floor too. The whole second floor was clearly not vacuumed. Also, the windows had smudges. And we were not able to check-in at 4:00pm as promised because the two cleaners weren’t done “cleaning” until around 4:15... Then, we spent the first full hour of our stay cleaning the unit ourselves. We were so disappointed with the poor cleaning that we felt we had no choice but to contact the local property manager, Sharon. The worse part of this situation was Sharon’s negative response to our concern. The tone and attitude she displayed over the phone was defensiveness and dismissiveness re: our concerns. With a dismissive tone, she said she could send the cleaners back (I let her know “thanks but we’ve already spent the last hour cleaning ourselves”). I asked Sharon if we could please have a courtesy late check out of just an additional hour to noon the next day given what had occurred but she responded with an immediate “no” because the unit was going to have the next guests checking in later tomorrow and so we needed to be out by 11:00 so they could have the time “to clean the unit.” Very ironic given the fact that we had to check in after 4:00 to a unit that was not clean for us! When I expressed to Sharon my surprise at her negative / “can’t be bothered with you” tone, she did say that she’d get me a refund of half the cleaning fee (ultimately, however, I did not receive half of the cleaning fee back but rather a smaller portion). The money isn’t the main issue here but rather the verbal representation made by Sharon which ultimately was not honored. But here are some positives about the unit: it has great beach front views, plenty of space for at least two families, and the garage was very well stocked with fun beach items for kids to play with on the beach (and the unit has easy access to the beach itself). However, unfortunately, we cannot recommend this property, it’s lack of cleanliness and the local property manager’s lack of professionalism was simply too disappointing.

Right on the beach!!!

Loved hearing the waves from every room in the house..well stocked in kitchen and linens and towels. So convenient to have a full bathroom for every bedroom. We had neighbors next to us and they had kids, but we didn’t hear them at all.. I am 65 and had a total hip, and had no problem going down the rock steps to the beach. Also in the garage, they had a lot of beach toys, which our grandchildren loved.. there was a hose hooked up by the back door, which made it nice to clean up from the beach before coming in the house..loved ♥️ Our stay..

Perfect location and set up for multiple families with furkids

Loved this location and this lovely duplex. Rockaway Beach is perfect for pets and people that prefer less population. The home and the ocean beach front required excellent mobility, so I am very glad I did not bring my walking-impaired parent. The kids and sibling and dogs had the time of the summer! 20 minutes away is Manzinita with the coolest pet store, awesome views on the highway, Seaside and Cannon Beach. The DVD did not play Blue Rays, but fortunately we brought some family DVDs. Loved the 2 story, private bedrooms and bathrooms. The beds were as comfy as I have slept in! I recommend this lovely home to anyone with multiple families and well-behaved dogs. Never heard a peep from the neighboring side of the duplex even though they had a toddler, 3 families and two dogs. Was serene, adverturous, glamorous, and homey. All of the best in a vacation!

Beautiful location!

The property is in a great location for families and pets. We found the kitchen to be well stocked and clean. I would have given 5 stars, but the couches desperately need to be replaced or have new foam put in them and the bunk bed room needed a deep cleaning. There's really only room for 5 people to hang out on a crummy day and watch movies (the place sleeps 8). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

Great beach front location

The location of the house is excellent, just a few steps to the beach, and tons of ocean facing windows inside. The kitchen is well stocked, and while the living room is a bit cramped for a group of people we really liked that each bedroom had its own bathroom. While the property is a bit more of a walk from town center than we are used to this is more than made up for by the excellent restaurant/bar around the corner. The one weird thing is that the only access to the back deck is through the two downstairs bedrooms, but this was not a big issue for us.
