If location/price is more important than service

This is not a hotel, and you should not expect much service. Its more like B&B (but without breakfast). Not a place to hang out at all. Rooms are basic, but clean. Some noise from backyard outdoor restaurant. The host is not much around, and there is no check-in between 2-3pm. Call in advance! Still: Great location very near Trastevere and Campo de Fiori at a reasonable price.

Property was hard to find, tucked behind a residential parking lot. There's no office manager onsite after 7 pm and our train was delayed 140 minutes to 8:30 so there was no one to meet us when we arrived. The manager texted directions for keys, but it was like a treasure hunt to find the room (This is a guest house, not a hotel, and only 3rd and 6th floors of the building are used--a fact we only learned from 2 sympathetic guests who were leaving as we arrived.) Room was fine once we found it. Clean, good size, and best of all, a Lavazza coffee machine on the desk. The location was good for what we wanted: Campo di Fiori, Piazza Navona, and the restaurants in the Ghetto.

It is misleading to classify this accommodation as a hotel, which it is listed as on the website. It had more of an AirBnB feel with 3 guestrooms in what appeared to be an apartment.The front entrance of this "hotel" is located in a cobblestone alley, unreachable by vehicle due to gating. There is an elevator, but it is necessary to first walk up a set of stairs, which is not always easy with heavy luggage. Upon arrival, we were berated by the "hotel" operator since he said that he had been calling my phone and trying to confirm our arrival time. We informed him that we did not purchase an international data plan and we had been traveling by bus and train from Positano, so we were not able to receive calls, but he still seemed annoyed. The room was clean and comfortable, and the property seemed to be in a decent location within the city. The "hotel" operator was kind enough to arrange our taxi to the airport.
