It was a great experience right from booking to checking out. Although we didn’t meet the hosts personally they were extremely friendly and helpful and quick to respond. The room was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Fantastic location, short walk to the Colosseum and plenty of restaurants. Would definitely recommend!

We got off to a rocky start when the host asked us to send him (Andrea) a picture of our passports for check-in via messages which we later read is not the legal way to check-in guests. The host must be present in person to verify the identity against the form of ID. We didn’t send a picture of our passports so the host came in person, but we had to wait 30-40 mins for him. It’s an apartment consisting of one hall with 4 bedrooms and a small kitchen. The rooms are located in front of the metro line so you will be hearing it in the middle of the night. When the metro passes, the room literally shakes like an earthquake. I recall hearing and feeling it shake until at least 12:30am! The walls are paper thin so you can hear absolutely everything, even the noise of people plugging things into the power outlet. When we laid down to try to sleep, we could loudly hear the water running at the head of our bed from the neighboring bathroom which didn’t allow us to fall asleep. You will be woken up when other renters wake up for THEIR daily activities which was 6:30am at times for us even though we weren’t able to get a good night’s rest. The location was not the best as there’s nothing to do besides walk to the Colosseum and there’s lots of graffiti. Other areas we visited were much livelier with tons of restaurants and things to enjoy. Room was clean and host was responsive, but doesn’t make up for all the shortcomings. For the price we paid, we rather have stayed at a real hotel.

Adding to my first review: The bed in the Standard Room with queen bed was very hard. There is no pillow top mattress or down comforter as advertised in the listing. Along with the noise from the tram that passes right outside your window and the paper-thin walls which allow every single noise from neighboring rooms (including conversations) through, the hard bed will be another reason you can’t get proper rest.
