My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this centrally-located studio. Francesco is great. When we ran into a problem of our phones disallowing calls within Italy, Francesco continued to follow through when he didn’t hear from us until he at last made contact. It must have been frustrating on his end, yet he was gracious & understanding when we finally met. He was also great helping with bags, explaining the apt, patiently helping when we couldn’t figure out how the keys/doors functioned, & in arranging our transfer to the airport. Views from the terrace are lovely, & though there is no actual seating area inside, one of our fave memories will be sitting back on the bed drinking Prosecco & looking at the incredible Roman vista through the large window opposite. The location in Trastevere is fabulous; right in the midst of a plethora of cafes & trattorie, most of them wonderful (our meal in the ristorante downstairs was “ok” & not helped by a crabby manager). Out the door to the right, a 3-min walk takes you to Piazza Trilussa & the Ponte Sisto bridge. Over the bridge is the lively & fun Campo di Fiori. A 25-min walk along the Tiber on the Trilussa side brings you to St. Peter’s Sq. Out the apt to the left brings you to more cafes & to the lovely Piazza di S. Maria. This way lays, also, the Gianicolo hill, a shorter distance than we imagined (about a 15 min walk) & worth a visit. The views are spectacular here (great photo ops!). Grab a glass of vino from a kiosk & sit on the wall to enjoy the vista. Some things to know about the apt: •It is small, much smaller than the pics convey;but as we were out all day & also ate out, it was more than enough for 2. •It is noisy on Fri & Sat nights. It did not bother us as we enjoyed the novelty of being in Rome & immersed in the vibrant neighborhood energy, but if you need complete silence to sleep, there may be better options. We DID, however, leave the ALL the windows open; these can be closed which may block sounds. •It’s 5 flights up but the views are worth it! •Major drawbacks were on the terrace. As we mentioned these to Francesco, they may be resolved for new renters. The 2 loungers & the umbrella were broken & there were many dead plants. Regardless, we were charmed by the little apt & the terrace views, &, overall, staying here was a lovely & charming experience. We would recommend the apt to friends with the caveat that the terrace had a 'refresh.' Many sincere thanks to Francesco for his kind help!
