"My friend & I arrived for a weeklong stay, and we stayed 12 hours. We did not feel safe because the property was so isolated and had no easy way to secure it when we would leave. My friend found evidence of bedbugs in the largest bed. The kitchen faucet would only run while spraying, and the oven was not clean. Adjacent buildings were cluttered and not clean. We voiced most of our concerns to the owner, and he promised a full refund, but none has been forthcoming."

"The very kind hostess gave us great advice during our weeklong stay. The gite is fantastic - comfortable beds, ample bathrooms, and nicely equipped kitchen. Avernes is a lovely town, close to many other small villages and beautiful countryside, but also easy drive to Monet’s house and gardens and larger towns. The restaurant in town offers delicious food, and the butcher is well provisioned…both an easy walk from the gite. Highly recommended, Thanks Sandrine!"

"Staying in this house was a fun and unique experience, that helped bring our family together. The house is the cleanest I have ever seen. The inside is modern with features such as automatically closing blinds, we found the owners to be very friendly and responsive. The yard is beautiful with a nice view of the French hill sides and both the grass and flowers are well maintained with a tree line defining the boundary of the yard. One bathroom has a toilet and sink, there is another bathroom...
