“I was confused by the reviews on this hotel as they swung from terrible to fantastic. I found the place perfect for my stay, while doing the coast to coast walk. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good, the bar was good, I didn’t require an evening meal. The room was clean as were the facilities. There is really nothing nearby, (by foot). The building is old and does need a lot of work, but this didn’t affect my stay. The room furniture was also a little ‘tired’, but my……

“Returning to this historic hotel for a third visit was just as enjoyable as ever. Although my room was smaller this time, it was still beautifully maintained and very comfortable. I was especially grateful to be allowed an early check-in at no extra cost, which made my trip even more relaxing. The food remains outstanding, and the staff continue to provide a genuinely warm, friendly, and helpful service throughout. “Room was reasonable, hotel facilities lacking, only option for water was to purchase small bottles at £2 each, no ability to get a hot drink after dinner time as they switch of machines. Stayed 2 nights but no room cleaning so no replenishment of essentials e.g. toilet roll. Beautiful location and would likely stay again due to this but only due to location so close to beach.”
