"Though the hotel is a bit dated, it is conveniently located within a short walk of Gloucester Road Station, the Natural History Museum, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. The breakfast buffet is great, and the staff are very friendly."

"5 star location , South Kensington Underground Station c5 mins , Royal Albert Hall c 10 mins so great for concerts which is why I was here , Natural History Museum at the end of the road . Studio 8 , 3 floors up , elevator not working so be aware . I was only here for 1 night so no issues as such for me but little other than air con , which was good , seemed intuitive or wasn’t working , I include TV , and Hob but as I say didn’t matter to me . Bit tired and could do with a refresh - shower , a little mould and rust including shower head , and could do with a drain cleaner, plenty of hot water and good pressure. Bed clean and comfortable . Small bistro table was sticky and 3 out of 4 chairs stained , just guest wear and tear but takes the shine off. "

"Breakfast was great. The rooms were exceptionally nice. The staff is extremely helpful and courteous. The location is fantastic for walking to shops, restaurants and tourist sites."

"Great location, beautiful building, unique decor and nice rooms. Our room was a little dark though and smelled a bit musty. Overall this is a nice hotel."

"This was my fourth stay at this hotel; I stay here for the good value and excellent location, as it’s near my favourite parks (Hyde and Holland) and a useful tube station. This stay was a little disappointing because the hotel is under constant construction. It was very disruptive throughout the day, especially as I’d hoped to work from my room during my 8-night stay. I was annoyed by this and the large, rowdy school group that arrived on my last night, partying next door and in the hallways of my (upgraded) room. The hotel itself was as it’s always been: a bit dated but comfortable enough. The service is hit or miss, depending on whom you’re talking with. I recommend staying here for the location and value, as long as you aren’t looking for luxury. It beats other affordable options by a mile. I love that there are bathtubs in all the rooms and the rooms are quite large for central London. M&S and Boots are at the doorstep, and there are tonnes of great restaurants, pubs, and cafes nearby, as well as shopping and parks/gardens. It’s very, very safe and pretty quiet, too."

"This was slightly unusual. The hotel has no reception area and the area that would have been considered communal was very untidy and disorganised. The room itself was great. Comfy bed, decent shower, snacks which I didn't know whether I would be charged for eating.... I had two nights here. The check in process is smooth. Please note, if you make a last minute booking like me, you may not receive the codes for getting into the building and your room. I just made a phone call (to Germany) and had a very pleasant member of staff assist me. No really issue but it may be slightly off putting for some people. Lovely art deco building. Room was nice."
