Ruakaka Retreat, heavenly views.
Set just 4 km off state highway 1 up in the hills, this quiet unique free-standing cottage is the perfect get-away. Ruakaka beach is 6-7 minutes' drive and Whangarei is 25 minutes to the North and Waipu just 15 minutes' drive away, you have so much to do. Have a wander through the large garden area out front.
There is one bedroom with a queen-sized bed. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, Air Fryer, Rice cooker and hot plate, with pot and pans for cooking. I also have some cooking basics also, Rice, Flour, Oats, Cooking oil etc,If you are staying for 3 days or more there is a washing machine / drier available (please ask if you require this).
There is wi-fi available and excellent Cell phone coverage also.
Feel free to wander around the property and take a walk along the (hardly any traffic) road, there are beautiful views everywhere, and it's worth a visit to Wilsons Dam, which supplies Whangarei with water.
I have two Sea Kayaks and life jackets available to use, but you will need a way to transport them or ask me and if I am around, I can help with this.
Feel free to ask if you need anything at all.

The host is warmly welcoming. The view is stunning. Cabin is a little tired now and could do with a thorough clean. You come for the quiet, the star filled night sky and the view THE VIEW which changes constantly and is a source of joyful delight.

I loved the quiet and calm atmosphere. The view was fantastic, and the batch had all the basics for a comfortable stay. It’s close to interesting towns and not far from the beach. Hidden gem with reasonable price
We loved the location and the amazing view of Ruakaka beach from the house. It was very clean and the sofa bed was set up for us upon arrival. Good indoor space for us (2 adults and 1 kid) and there are great outdoor areas for exploring. All come with a very reasonable price tag during holiday season. Mark and his partner were very friendly and helpful.
