“Room was clean, not made up after first day. “Breakfast” is minimal.”

“My only complaint is how I was greeted by the front desk clerk upon my arrival for check in. It was late, around 1130pm. I stood in line and waited for the clerk to help the person in front of me. Once she was finished, she looked at me and said “do you want something?”…maybe “can I help you?” Or “how can I help you?”. Just came off as rude, unprofessional and that I was a bother. “Where to start? With the welcome packet hanging on the door. My husband and I approached the Inn on the afternoon of May 31, 2026. On the door, we found a welcome packet with a page inside directed to "Expedia Guest." A copy of this is attached. In the attached note, Mark introduced himself and then started complaining about Expedia. In the fourth paragraph of the note, he days the commission Expedia takes "makes it tough for small inns like ours." In the fifth paragraph, I kid you not,……

“My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at this uber quaint inn. Super clean. Convenient location. Spacious room. Very peaceful. Superb restaurant right next door. Yummy, professionally prepared breakfast to die for. Friendly staff. We are retired seniors. We stayed here in June 2026 on our way to Gettysburg, Annapolis, Mt. Vernon & DC.”

“The facility gave my room away one hour before my arrival in an area that was completely booked and cited that they had a right to do that! Buyer beware do not stay at this establishment! Their word and your money mean nothing to them! My stay was prepaid! They gave my room away to another patron due to “technical difficulties” in the other patrons room who happened to be a Hilton member and they said they have a right to prioritize Hilton members over paid patrons rooms!!!! Bad business will……

“The property was well maintained but our room was never cleaned.Left at 9am and returned at 9pm and nothing was done. They claimed they had problems but we paid $200 a night and they didn't even replace the towels. The price should really be reduced for our inconvenience.I had to ask for fresh towels and I did get that.”

“We had a wonderful stay! The innkeepers were so friendly and helpful. It was fun to learn the history of the house, especially since the were so into the history. Donnie is an excellent chef and made a wonderful breakfast for us. We were only there for one night since we were visiting our son and he only had one day off. We would definitely recommend as a place to stay for one night, or much longer. Charles Town was a cool place to visit and there are several towns around with fun downtown……

“We needed a pet-friendly place for one night while traveling on I-81 and this Hampton Inn was perfect. It was an easy off and back on the highway, parking was ample and convenient, and the breakfast was actually quite good. There were several chain restaurants just a few steps away, so we didn't need to get in the car again once we parked it. If I had packed bathing suits, I might have enjoyed the small outdoor pool that was very inviting after hours on the road.”
