Very friendly and professional staff!

I was able to get a good price through Hotels.com after car trouble. Bernard (?) greeted me and was very friendly and accommodating and Angela the manager had a heart of gold. She was very professional and kind to me and other customers. The property has been dramatically improved in the 4 months they have run the place. The exterior was painted recently to brighten the experience. New refrigerator with large frozen area; nice microwave; larger TV with direct TV and lots of channels. Clean towels; colorful sheets and comforter like you would have at home. Parked at your door. Two gas stations and restaurants a few minutes walk away. Safe, well lit, secure. All you needed in your very clean room. Yes it wasn’t perfect maybe; but clean and homelike feel and a low price and you could tell they cared and were improving the physical appearance. Angela and Bernard (i think) were delightful and instantly were my friends. They have a car repair guy that comes to the motel and pizza delivery available.

Just stayed the night to go fishing the next morning so it was good for what we needed it for. The two people that I spoke to when checking in were very friendly and helpful.

Do NOT make a reservation at Relax Inn in Atkins.

It was a dump. Didn’t even go in. I forfeited my money because it was too late to cancel. Drove down the street to Comfort Inn.

Truly disappointed

The stay may have been alright if the front desk hadn't randomly closed before we got there. I called at 4 pm to let them know we would be doing a late check in, which shouldn't have mattered since they have 24/7 front desk, according to their details here. The person that had answered said it would be fine since they're open until 11 pm. I called at 10:15 to let them know we were 30 minutes away, and their desk was closed leaving us to find a place to stay in a very rural area at almost 11 at night while traveling with a six year old. Very,very disappointed.

Staff at the front desk were amazing! Extremely friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, that’s where the good experience ended. This is a very old motel that is in serious need of maintenance. I don’t even know where to begin. Smoke alarm was missing, dead bugs all over the walls, floor, sinks, tub, and furnishings, bathtub is missing hardware, room smelled smoky, broken and missing tiles, etc. Bed appeared to be clean and comfortable, and I guess that is what was important. Didn’t expect much for $59 to be honest.

Not what I expected

I booked the room for two nights and I knew the room wasn't going to be great with a 7.6 out of 10 rating. I did not expect The room just smell like smoke. I open the door. The room was Dingy, dark And completely unappealing. There were blue sheets on the bed. Make me wonder if they were clean. The bathroom was in disrepair and had cracks on every wall. The lamp had no lampshade, and the power strip may be a Code violation. After about 20 minutes of deciding, if I could stay one night and check out in the morning since it was late, I decided to just walk away.
