"The cabin was just what we needed to escape the hustle and bustle of work!! Just the right size to sit and relax by the water and enjoy an early morning or late evening canoe ride while the Eagle flew above us. Perfect spot for day hikes or day drinking at the wineries. Then enjoy a bonfire with a glass of wine and talk about all you did and what you want to do the next day!! Definitely recommend and will be back"

The gas fireplace in the dining area was great, has pretty much everything you could need and incredibly stylish (the retro fridge and microwave were very cool). "we had a wonderful time! the cottage was very comfortable and really well-appointed. We made the most of the fireplace and our two dogs loved the access to the field and woods nearby. Susanne, the host, gave us great directions and was super friendly and helpful and we really appreciated the scones,chocolate and fresh local eggs left for us. We made the most of the easy access to the Rhinebeck restaurtants and hikes in the area and would love to come back! Thank you"

"A very nice stay. Communication with the host was great. We kept bothering her with questions and she responded quickly. The place is really beautiful. We lit a fire each night and played some of the provided games and watched Netflix. It's an easy drive to Great Barrington to get groceries at the Berkshire coop. We also took advantage of our surroundings and hikes on the AT a little each day. Next time we'll use the host's canoe to explore Lake Buel. The only minor complaint I would have is...

"My husband and I recently enjoyed a weekend at the Cottage at Highland Lake and would highly recommend it. The host gave excellent detailed directions, check in was easy, and the cottage was clean and exactly as described with a fully remodeled upstairs. There is a small deck off the master bedroom and a really nice size deck off the first floor, both overlooking the lake. Best of all is the location. The cottage is right on the lake and has a dock. Overall just a perfect weekend escape!"

"My husband and I like to swim and kayak, so this location was perfect, and we loved exploring the area during our week at Goose Landing. The cottage was designed so well that even though it's small there was plenty of room for the two of us. The kitchen was wonderful, with lots of counter space, a big modern SS gas stove, and all the cookware and utensils we needed. The furnishings were lovely and comfortable. "Nicely renovated house. A few issues likely caused by an ice storm prior to our arrival. Owner was kind to resolve. Beds are VERY firm, if that is your thing. There are new window coverings in the bedrooms, but room darkening would have been a huge plus. No sleeping in if you are at all light sensitive. An App on the tv that would allow for streaming network channels would also be great."

"We've stayed in a lot of home rentals - and across the board - this was the best place ever. The home was clean, nicely decorated and super comfortable. The hosts were easy to get a hold of and incredibly welcoming, leaving us with a generous basket of local treats. We loved the peaceful outdoor space and roamed all 40 acres. "The hosts have made this ranch house into an artsy, cozy place for families to rest and relax! Plenty of space for family hang outs and game playing, but also enough rooms for tweens or teens to get away and have alone time. Beautiful spaces throughout. We would have loved to enjoy the backyard space and screened-in porch if it hadn't been winter, but appreciated watching the snow falling while sipping coffee by the kitchen window! Close to Catamount ski area and minutes from Stockbridge shops...
