Property made you feel you are on a old cabin, very good! Breakfast was great and staff did a great job on making sure we were happy. Restaurant was ok, nothing great a bit pricy for the type of service. Other than that it was great, location was great to get out and go to las galeras or to go to other excursions.

This jungle hotel is a hidden gem. Our experience was beyond what we had imagined from check-in to check-out...beaches were walking distance & we were surrounded by so much beauty! Our chalet was perfect & very private with plenty of room for our party of 6. The staff was outstanding, very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was included & always delicious! Charming Chalet Tropical!

Loved the ambience. Breakfasts were delicious and served in such an appetizing and beautiful manner. Location great. Easy walk to the beach. Friendly staff. Charming and very different. Shower really cool --- water came out of a rock like a waterfall. And really good hot water. Would recommend if you are in the area!

We absolutely loved our stay at Chalet Tropical! From the moment we arrived, the service was beyond exceptional—worthy of a 5-star hotel rating. Every detail was handled with care and genuine warmth. Chalet #1 is incredibly spacious and creatively designed. It’s a feast for the senses—crafted with beautiful woodwork, unique rustic furniture, and thoughtful artistic touches in every corner. Just look at these pictures! Every space felt like a handcrafted masterpiece. We especially loved having our own private pool, complete with a peaceful waterfall. Even though the water was cold, we still enjoyed every moment—the sound alone was pure tropical serenity. Although we won’t be back ourselves, we’ve already shared this hidden gem with our friends and family so they too can enjoy this unforgettable experience. It’s truly a special place, full of charm, nature, and creativity. 🌿🌊

Location is fabulous. The Signature Chalet could use some updating. Is aesthetically pleasant, but needs some improvement to make it more eco and small children safe. Keep in mind you’re surrounded by a lush garden, so do expect bugs. The chalet needs some more thorough cleaning as certain parts were not fully as clean as they should be. The shower pressure is low and the pitch is incorrect, so the water tends to pool and you have to push it to the drain with your feet. The garden pool with the cascade is nice and the sound is soothing, but not very safe if you have children as the rocks are a bit jagged and sharp. The pool in the restaurant is worse as there were many sharp stones on the ledge. They are pet friendly which is great. The hotel staff is amazing!!! The restaurant staff could be friendlier. This is one of the toughest reviews I’ve written, as we liked it very much, but it was not restful as 5 out of the 8 night we stayed, the music and partying at the chalets next to ours was unbearable even with earplugs. So keep that in mind. And there were roaches and other bugs regularly since you are surrounded by vegetation. Not a deal breaker for us since we understand jungle like setting means bugs. The noise level was no good. The aesthetics scream serenity, but no enforcement of their own house rules, made it not a peaceful escape. Minor tweaks could easily make this property a 5 stars.

This is our third time staying here. We love it, for the peacefulness, and for the attentiveness of the owner and staff. We did have a few issues with water in our villa, but because of recent rains and flooding, it really wasn’t a big deal and when our water went out, we simply informed the staff and they took care of it. Some of the things in the kitchen area could be replaced. The greka was broken so it overflowed every time we made coffee, one of the drawers with all of the utensils was missing a handle, and the toaster oven was broken, but these were minor inconveniences to cooking. It will not deter us from continuing to return yearly. Everything else was perfect. This was the first time we stayed in the bigger villa and we brought friends. We had plenty of space for everyone and it was wonderfully fun and relaxing. They are currently building an on-site restaurant and large pool area in the front of the property so it will be even more beautiful and we are excited to return to see the improvements.

The family villa was gorgeous and well put together with its own pool. For some reason we did end up loosing power “region wide” which the hotel has no fault over for nearly 8 hrs. Pretty much all night. The wooden villa was not as hot compared to the brick one I heard about. Regardless, the very next morning I met the owner to which he treated us two complimentary breakfast which was very polite of him to do. He was there since the day prior which does show he cares for his clients and property which is also very well kept. Regardless of the power issue my family and I felt safe and secure and did not have any other issues.
