Whether you’re an outdoorsman or a shopaholic, there is so much to do in San Marcos! Float the spring-fed San Marcos River. Head over to the Meadows Center and hop on the glass-bottom boat tour for a closer look and a unique perspective of the beautiful river. Visit the over 240 shops at the outlet mall for a day of endless shopping. Hike the trails at Purgatory Creek Natural Area and take in the beauty.
Looking for an outing for the day? Take a drive to Canyon Lake and rent a boat or jet skis for a fun afternoon on the water. Check out the music calendar at Whitewater Amphitheater and rock out at a concert! Explore New Braunfels and Gruene and enjoy fabulous restaurants and live music. A day of tubing, kayaking, and rafting on the Guadalupe River is always fun. Families and children will especially love Schlitterbahn Water Park and Landa Park.
Spend the day in Wimberley, browsing the darling shops, delicious restaurants, and local wineries and breweries. Outdoor enthusiasts will love Jacobs Well and Blue Hole Regional Park for swimming, kayaking, and hiking trails. Blanco has several popular attractions for outdoorsmen, historians, and foodies. Blanco State Park offers fishing, swimming, and hiking. For those interested in the historical Old West, The Buggy Barn has over 140 covered wagons. Further down the road, spend the day exploring Fredericksburg. Travel to Wine Road 290 which offers 19 wineries, all within a few miles of each other. Visit one of Fredericksburg’s two amazing museums: the National Museum of the Pacific War and the Pioneer Museum. During the summer, make sure to stop by a fruit stand and grab some famous Fredericksburg peaches.
In Kerrville, Schreiner Park is located on 517 acres along the Guadalupe River, where you can swim, rent boats, or explore hiking trails. The Museum of Western Art and the Pollinator Museum are fun and interesting for all ages. Indulge in one of the fabulous restaurants while listening to local artists’ music.
