Regarding the property itself, it was lovely. The home is much more spacious than I expected it to be. Fully stocked kitchen. All linens are there, plus extras. The bedrooms are very large. Yes, the water has a funny smell.
The biggest things that i wished I had known in advance were - 1, there is no floating dock. Not sure why it’s in the pictures. 2, there is no actual beach or sandy area. It’s all dense brush and small trees. Then there’s about a two foot wide opening where you can walk into the lake. Otherwise, you can walk out onto the dock and get into the water there. The water is quite shallow by the dock, so it’s easy to get in and out. The water is mucky there though, it’s not sand. So we entered the water by stepping onto our floats and heading out to deep water. Bring floats!! We had so much fun in the deeper part of the lake. My husband also fished and caught quite a few.
The neighbors are very close, but even still, the lake is so peaceful. Most of the time we were on the lake alone!
House stays cool with window a/c’s and fans.
Other than the beach/dock issues, our only real complaint is that we didn’t have hot water the first two days. I would have been fine to chalk this up to bad luck, had it been handled quickly and professionally by staff. I had to call four times to get assistance (they kept telling me a local agent would call back and one never did). When the local agent finally called she was very rude. The next day i received an apology and a hundred dollar refund offer.
My husband says that even still, he would stay again, and I tend to agree. The house and lake were a lot of fun!
